  1. Hendrickson leaves after allowing a 2-out double to Theriot. Restovich and Hoffpauir each hit RBI singles, putting the I-Cubs up 2-0 and Hill in line for the win.
  2. And Hill's night is done. Pie PHs for him and strikes out looking (he's been doing that lately). 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 14 K, 86 pitches - 65. I like the decision. Let him walk away from tonight's game with a bunch of confidence.
  3. Huh. Apparently the weather is vastly different by Wrigley, then.
  4. Just 86 pitches, too. What efficiency. 23 strikeouts combined from Hill and Hendrickson.
  5. And just one flyout to go along with two hits.
  6. Yeah, '04. I was in the UD boxes for that one. This is the best thunderstorm we've had in a long time.
  7. Don't worry, he's not going to be brought up. He's starting to walk and has taken a few called third strikes recently. That should buy him an additional month.
  8. ok Seriously, what are you talking about with the title of this thread? Count me in on that.
  9. Shipman has given up 3 runs in the 8th on 2 singles, a walk, a sac fly, a run-scoring balk, and a run-scoring single.
  10. Guzman walked in a run and gave up a sac fly in the 6th. He might be done. 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 7 K, 108 pitches - 69 strikes
  11. Looks like it's pretty hot there, but at least Marmol is on the hill. Enjoy the game and let us now how Marmol and the rest of the team are doing from time to time if you can. Coats drives in Hoffpauir and Deardorff, I-Cubs up 4-0. Jackson has given up all 4 in the 4th without retiring a batter and has been pulled.
  12. But real estate talk is exciting. That's bizarre. Are you just enjoying the game from the booth, then?
  13. Oh, look. Another HR for Restovich off of a left hander. He now has a 1.333 OPS against lefties in 29 ABs this season. 2-0 Iowa.
  14. Guzman so far: 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K, 47 pitches - 32 strikes. Pie with a 4-pitch walk. That's #18 on the year for him and his OBP is 70 points higher than his BA. He was caught stealing, though (there were two outs).
  15. 22-pitch first for Guzman, but he struck one and only gave up one hit. The other batter reached on an error. Pie was called out on strikes in his first AB on a borderline 3-2 pitch. He was ahead in the count 3-0.
  16. The LumberKings have the winning runner on third in the 10th. Avery is still in there. Ugh...Chiefs lose. With the bases loaded and one away, the batter hit a check swing grounder back to Avery. It should have been a 1-2-3 DP to end the inning, but instead, Avery threw the ball away at home.
  17. Ugh. Veal couldn't escape the 7th and allowed four runs: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 BB, 5 K, WP, 4 GO/8 FO
  18. The I-Cubs game has been pushed back to 8:05 because of travel delays earlier on their return from California, but it still hasn't gotten underway.
  19. If Joe had written this in a sarcastic tone, he would have been dead on. It was hilarious when he said that. Now, it's mostly just sad.
  20. According to the AP, the Angels have called up Jered. He'll make his debut tomorrow night. Esteban Yan was DFAed.
  21. "Neifi's glove was a little stiff from not starting every day. We'll just have to correct that."
