  1. After the plate slap, he made a gesture to Barrett and then jawed at him even before he got up, but he had to have been aware of that.
  2. Michael has no business punching anyone, but AJP had no business starting that.
  3. Not even that, but he pounded home plate, made a gesture to Barrett, and then started talking trash.
  4. That was real cheap, AJP. And Barrett will certainly pay the price.
  5. Nicely done by Ramirez. After the knock down, it's easy not to get any on a play like that.
  6. Call him up! Mid-season form. Micah with his first AAA hit of the season...a HR to right! I-Cubs up 1-0. Against a lefty, too.
  7. Montanez with his first AAA hit, a 2-out double in the first. Pie, Womack (eww), and Restovich struck out, though.
  8. That's only the second time Neifi's done that this year. Yuck.
  9. Didn't see the near Podsednik HR coming, though.
  10. He couldn't grip the ball. i just rewinded it on my DVR...he had the ball out of his glove and he thought about throwing home, but obviously didn't. If he makes that throw, Thome is gunned out at the plate. not like it matters anyway. This game was done when Konerko got that RBI double. Yeah, I think it was more of him just not expected to have a shot at home since he was playing back. And since there was still nobody out at that point, he was looking for the sure out off the bat.
  11. Maddux was crap in the first and Pods wasn't on base. bases full now.. brenly = right How? Maddux has sucked like this in the past, and he sucked like this in the first. I don't see how Pods makes a difference. And he sucked against Pods.
  12. I think Iguchi had a temporary case of Neifi's disease right there.
  13. Lee will get his small cast off around June 1 and was quoted yesterday as saying he doesn't even want any rehab starts. 3 weeks may be just about right, though I assume they won't let him rush things that much.
  14. Not if he wants the ump to call strikes. Good, quick inning. Not that high. He's thrown quite a few that have been in the same spot as the one he threw to Thome, which are quite crushable. In related news, Cubs hitters are allowed by MLB rules to take pitches out of the zone.
  15. Greg, you're allowed to keep the ball below belt-high.
  16. He'll be 24 in August and batted .258/.304/.387 last year at AA. How fast? Versatility? Not sure if he can play second, but yes, he does like to run. Of course, he only has a 69% success rate in his career and 66% last year. But we all know that SB % doesn't matter.
  17. Maddux should be thankful he gave up just one run that inning. Yeesh.
  18. He'll be 24 in August and batted .258/.304/.387 last year at AA.
  19. Maddux just looks bad this inning. Not as much control and a lot of pitches up.
  20. Don't flip your bat when you take a fastball right down the middle, Thome.
  21. It appears there is no outside corner. There were some pretty inconsistent calls in the top of the 1st, but Vanover missed two pretty clear strikes so far.
  22. Swung at ball 4 and Ramirez with a sweet catch!
  23. Anyone know where the strike zone is today?
