  1. 3 years,16 Mil Isnt this the Jaque Jones contract or very similar?
  2. hahahaha i just lmao after seein that sig.. are u a "switch hitter"? like everyones fave cub Cezar? :D
  3. If they get Helton, that is going to be discustingly good lineup. It will be a OBP machine. Lugo,Drew,Ortiz,Manny,Helton just getting through that might take 40 pitches.I can see Boston winning it all pretty much with that lineup and their pitching..Damn them!
  4. I cant wait to put my Neifi and Macias baseball cards up..Those should be worth a bundle
  5. It brings a tear to my eye :*)
  6. Golfing never hurt my shoulder after I screwed it up pitching. BTW - my mechanics stunk at both sports. I think you'd have to have pretty bad golf mechanics to tax your right shoulder in a right handed golf swing! Prior shouldnt be doing anything..This guy could get injured brushing his teeth or doing anything..I think we should have him live in a bubble until spring training :)
  7. I'd hate to depend on Floyd though. Wasnt he signed to be a 4th OF?? Everywhere you read is saying he will play on days Murton or Jones needs rest
  8. Sorry If this is posted anywhere,or just merge it with whatever other Prior post..http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2737285 OK so hes completely healthy? Im just wondering if were going to see the old Prior who would throw consistenly in the mid 90's and had that crazy movement on his fastball and other pitches,He would just go after hitters and overpower them..If hes still pitching in the low 90's like last year, im going to be kinda worried, well have a repeat of him getting shelled like last season..If he regains his old form, I think wed have one of the top rotations in baseball. With a 1-2 punch of him and Z.Also having Lilly and Hill for our 3 and 4 is just solid. If everyone stays healthy and pitches to their potential, our top four could win 15 games each.Im already pumped for the season. The pitching right now is not bad at all and not really good, but if the old Prior comes back,I am definetley feelin us getting into the playoffs with ease in that division with that rotation and lineup..
  9. So i just got home from the bar, and read your idea.. andI think that is a hell of a great idea...Everyone knows,Jones blows against lefties..Theriot impressed me big time.I wish for a Theriot/Derosa infield but we know that wont happen..But Theriot/Jones platoon would be awsome
  10. HIGH FIVE! ( Borat style )
  11. I think it was a good descision for him coming exclusivley to baseball. He will be more popular and it will be way less wear and tear to his body.Honestly, I dont think he would do much in the NFL..How many white WR's do you see really that make an impact in the NFL? None really, all of them are pretty much number 3 or 4 recievers on the depth chart..He'd prolly be another guy like Kevin Curtis,Ricky Prohel etc. Maybe he has more talent and could be a stud reciever in the NFL, who knows, thats jsut my opinion..A guy who was awsome at college but would be nothing in the NFL..Great choice sticking to baseball
  12. awww..that dosent do anything for me.. I was hoping for a Zambrano contract extension
  13. We can start up a " Fonzy " chant.. But not alot of people would know that is his nickname
  14. Wow, it's kind of amazing that Hendry's having so much trouble trading this guy given that contract. Perhaps he's not as intent on trading Jones as rumor suggests. That would be good news. I agree unless Jones is hurt and we don't know about it. And/or other GMs think Jones isn't likely to repeat is 2006 numbers. Which is understandable. Maybe. A guy that hits left handed and puts out decent numbers for a price, there should be somebody out there interested. Of course if I were a GM I'd wonder why Hendry wants a lefty bat when he has Jones already. I think it will be really stupid if Hendry trades Jones for nothing..Hes already a lefty power bat, I don't get why they keep saying CF is such black hole, and theyre looking for lefty bat..If you trade Jones your getting rid of about 25 HR's 80 RBI's and with Soriano,Lee, and Rameriz, hitting 30 + each, The lineup is going to be stacked..He might even put up better numbers, who knows, because with all the guys in our lineup, he might see some really good pitches..As for defense, hes played CF before and has an above average range factor, and his arm might be way better suited for CF rather than RF..There is positivly no reason to trade him unless you upgrade at the position..I just wish the fans weren't so damn hard on him last year that he must hate playing here.I just want him to play CF this year, then bring up Pie in '08 and were good to go.
  15. Milhouse: Its Alf, He's back,In Pog form!"
  16. Its a mistake on Rotoworld..Royals got him
  17. Rotoworld Cubs signed infielder Tomas Perez to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Finally, someone to fill the void Neifi Perez's departure left on the Cubs. Tomas Perez's OPS has dropped six years running, bottoming out at 510 last year. He hit .212/.224/.286 while getting 241 at-bats for the Rays. The Cubs shouldn't be reduced to carrying him. What a stupid signing..All you can do is ask.. Why?
  18. If the Nationals are so desperate for pitching why dosen't Hendry just give them someone like Mateo,Marmol,Guzman for Church..Im sure they'd do it with how badly they need pitching
  19. I'm the same way..I think Id rather go with Jones who will put up more HR's and RBI's..Church will have a better OBP though..Church is the only one I wouldnt mind replacing Jones with if we have to..Hendry better not trade Jones unless we get something better in CF for him..With Jones your getting 25 HR's 80 RBI's..Thats fine with me already havinh Soriano,DLee, and Rameriez..Our lineup is gunna look good.I say just go with Jones the rest of the year.I just hope Hendry dosen't trade him for nothing like he did with C.Patterson Todd Walker Etc.
  20. Remember, Lilly posted 15 wins on a team without alot of sticks..and he was playing the Yankees,Red Sox ETC in the AL...His ERA has to get lower this year playing in the NL..Otherwise consider it a failure..Im pretty confident with a transfer to the NL will do him good
  21. Go with CBS Sportsline..I use it for Baseball and Football leagues..Its one of the best if not the best out there
  22. Why is this a step backwards for the Sox? McCarthy wasn't a stud out of the bullpen last year. The guys they got for McCarthy might have potential. But they are 2 or 3 years away and now it leaves that spot in the rotation open ..All their fans have the win now attitude and expectations are so high after winning the series in '05..they don't want to see the pieces they need to win it again sent away for prospects..They have the same win now attitude as we do.They dont want to wait 2 or 3 years away to see what happens.McCarthy is the only Major League ready guy in that trade and has proven to get out hitters.Almost all their fans hate the trade and I dont blame them..It might ending up being good a couple years from now.But right now its a step back. After all the trades and moves Kenny has made the last 2 years everyone was so high on him..then this season was a huge letdown because theyre sending away their pieces for prospects..If I was a Sox fan Id be upset and question what the hell hes doing.
  23. This is great...Another step backwards for the White Sox..Over on their message board, almost every fan is furious and does not like this deal at all..They have the same man love for McCarthy that some guys do with Murton..This is great since I get to make fun of my friends who are all Sox fans..Hooray
  24. I have no respect for a guy who hit his wife over the head with a wine bottle...screw him
  25. The best matchup is actually Cutler vs the Horrible Bengals pass defense.. I thinkin of starting Cutler over Hasslebeck
