  1. For spring trianing games that arent going to be on Tv, is there anyway to see or hear them? Will they be on the radio, or do you have get mlb.tv to watch them?
  2. Finally..It seems like Prior is a little messed up mentally, like hes really worried about getting hurt again after being on the DL so long.Well I hope he returns and gets his confidence back.
  3. "He's getting close," Rothschild said. "I wouldn't say full velocity from what you've seen a couple years ago, but it's a definite improvement. He's handled the work load with flying colors." So no mid 90's fastballs?? he was around 89-92 last year..How much of a improvement?..I wish they would give a range of hard hard these guys are throwing..
  4. Heres your answer http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070225&content_id=1815461&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc Prior threw 35 pitches to hitters in a live batting practice session around 8:30 a.m. MT on Sunday at Fitch Park. So far, so good for the right-hander, who spent the winter strengthening his shoulder.
  5. Hes supposed to.This is from the Suntimes today.. PRIOR DEEDS: Right-hander Mark Prior, who's being treated with caution this spring in his comeback from shoulder problems, did not throw to hitters with his usual group, instead doing a lighter, flat-ground throw session, at the pitcher's request, Rothschild said. It's worth keeping an eye on over the next few days, but Rothschild said Prior was just taking an extra day between live-BP sessions that all the pitchers are getting -- most of them getting that extra day before they throw again Tuesday. Rothschild said Prior will throw to hitters today. ''I made sure to tell the pitching coach and the trainer to tell these pitchers that have had some physical ailments in the past to work but take it easy,'' Piniella said, ''and not push themselves. There's plenty of time here. The secret is to get these guys all healthy when the season starts.''
  6. Its because Cezar brings in runs with his glove
  7. Thank God the days of hacking at everything courtesy of Dusty and Clines are over..Hopefully the rest of the team can start working the count and take walks for once

  9. Dateline, Feb. 23, 2007  At first I glanced at it and thought it was for real
  10. http://mvn.com/mlb-cubs/2007/02/22/no-this-is-heaven/ That would be so freakin awsome if he came back throwing in the mid 90's and with the old movement on his pitches..he was throwing the fast ball last year at around 89-91, but you could tell it didnt have that movement like it did in '03..Lets hope he got his velocity back..man im so freakin pumped up for the season

  12. He faced live hitters today.. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070222&content_id=1811969&vkey=spt2007news&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc I don’t know how he felt afterward, and maybe he breaks down next week, but I do know this: Today, Mark Prior LOOKED out-freakin’-great. Prior circa-vintage 2003. He threw fast balls, breaking balls, and change-ups over a 10 minute period with a free and easy delivery, good pace and rhythm, and he seemed to have excellent velocity and location. Prior must have impressed the hitters, too, because D-Lee gave Prior an “attaboy” high-five as Prior was leaving the mound, and hitters don’t normally do that. MVN.com
  13. Cubs.com says 12 mil chicago sports.com says 12.4 http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070220cubszambrano,1,226806.story?coll=cs-cubs-headlines either or is fine with me only 400 k difference
  14. Very Nicce. High Five! http://themol.typepad.com/themol/images/borat-thumb.jpg
  15. The Lawton trade was my fave..That was the blockbuster that made the season right there
  16. on suntimes.com Pitcher Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs avoided arbitration today, reaching agreement at the last minute on a one-year deal, the team confirmed.
  17. Yess!! They just said it again that sources are saying they agreed right around 12.5
  18. Looks like they went to it http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070220cubszambrano,1,226806.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  19. latest update on espn 1000 said they had no idea if the hearing was going, was scheduled for 3 pm, and they were close to an agreement
  20. ESPN 1000 said Z and Jim are trying to work out a deal of around 12.5 million
  21. Few more side sessions for him and 1 more for the rest then they face live hitters! :D damn im so excited for this year
  22. I guess I cant really blame Zambrano for this since Lilly is making 10 million a year,Soriano is making like 17,18 million..Jim drove up the market so much that Z wants to get paid what hes worth.I think alot of it has to do with pride.Him getting only 1 more million than Lilly is probably insulting to him.
  23. Bruce, do you think this is going to have a big negative effect on getting a long-term deal done? Jim is going to have to say alot of negative things to Zambranos face in the process, and with a emotional guy like Carlos, it looks like getting a long term deal will be very difficult.
  24. I dont get why he dosen't take this 11 or 12 mil hes getting offered for jsut 1 year..He knows hes going to get 15-17 the next 5 years or so no matter what. How much freakin money do you need?
