  1. reminds me of buff in vancouver. http://i48.tinypic.com/rh0du0.jpg haha, wasn't there a rumor that buff rented a convertible and drove around vancouver at some point before that game with his hawks jersey on and the stereo blasting something obnoxious? i don't even care if that's true
  2. i think wings fans are being perfectly honest when they blame the loss on the vast nhl conspiracy, phantom offside, or bogus penalty shots. i think if wings fans thought their team was better than the blackhawks, they would actually make a coherent case for that, rather than resorting to all of the nonsense we see around the internets
  3. it's interesting just how big of a window howard gives him on the glove side. i've seen people speculate that it's because howard was overconfident with his glove, but he really gave himself no chance on a shot anywhere near the post. part of that has to do with how well fro sells the stick-side forehand, specifically, dropping that left knee. and wow, talk about coming up big; that shot was about as perfect as they get
  4. i don't think bolland would have netted as much as byfuglien. plus we probably wouldn't have been able to re-sign him anyway
  5. bickell has settled into that buff role. only he's a better skater and more skilled as a forward, and he's such a great villain. he's like a fast, offensively gifted ogre, love him. which buff are you talking about, uninterested buff or beast mode buff? bickell, as impressive as he can be at times, is only better than one of those versions 260 lbs, coast to coast
  6. yeah, i think we see the real desperation of the wings and their fans in these gripes. nevermind toews wears a wings player as a backpack for much of his toi, let's crap the bed about a straightforward call. it just seems that it really is mind blowing to much of that fanbase that the hawks are truly the better team. hopefully we end this rivalry the right way on wed and go to california with an achin' in our hearts
  7. frolik the only player in nhl history to score to playoff penalty shot goals. well i'll be gotta love hockeytown heading for the exits with plenty left in the game. get thee to the east, you unworthy wenches
  8. yeah, i hate this nbcsports bs, playoff games for a major sport shouldn't be on a non-basic channel
  9. that's pretty much the exact thing i want to hear from that locker room
  10. yawn. frustrating, but the wings caught all the breaks and the hawks caught almost none. the wings were getting dominated when they scored those two goals. the blackhawks are still the better, more talented team. and still the most likely to win this series
  11. glad we got the gang back together, these guys should do some damage tonight
  12. and what could be more effective than the "read first unread post" icon?
  13. I still think The Hawks win in 6. I am just a little glad that some Hawks fans are going to have to eat a little bit of crow after the talking they were doing after game 1(not really here but some other places) Truth is that in 6 games this season the Hawks were far superior in 2. 3 games were about even and now the Wings have been superior in 1. This has not been as one sided as some Hawks fans think. I don't blame Hawks fans for getting a little cocky after game 1. They really looked good. But anyone who expected the Hawks to just sweep Detroit is probably a bandwagoner that hasn't followed Detroit over the last 15 years. They have depth issues and aren't as collectively talented as years past but they have great coaching for the lost part and a lot of top end talent. They are a tough out. i think it was also wishful thinking. given the long, long, long history of the wings dominance over the hawks. it would have been a cathartic end to the rivalry to destroy them in four games the hawks respond well to losses, so i think we'll see a very different team this next game
  14. i wouldn't even bother with the driver and maybe even any wood in that case, few irons is boring as [expletive]
  15. i mean, they're good and they definitely deserve to be where they are. and of course, they have an excellent goalie. but they're not as good as the bruins, and and they're a noticeable step below la and the hawks. if they make it out of the east, whoever wins the west is going to feel pretty good about their chances, and rightly so.
  16. did you get the regular rbladez or the tour? either way, that's a pretty big space between your pw and your 56. also i would think you could get rid of the 5 wood, i did when i started using a 19 deg hybrid and haven't looked back
  17. This. I dunno, I think Rangers are only team from East who can challenge the West champ. you're going to have to explain yourself sir. extra points if you can convince without using the word "goalie"
  18. if you're near the cap, you're only making money if you're in the playoffs. i can't imagine the first round exits of late have been too kind on the team coffers. that's if you believe what the nhl owners say about the economics of the game, anyway
  19. la is by far the biggest threat. if we make it to the finals, we will do so as the clear favorites to win the cup. i'm more worried about boston than pitt
  20. yeah, they should hurt one of our superstars so it's easier for them to play against us. I didn't say injure someone. I said knock some people down when they're stepping up to your goal without any resistance they should just goon it up because they're going to lose anyway, right? They should take back the front of the goal i think they're too busy trying not to lose
  21. maybe he should never play again, just in case
  22. probably because half of chicagoland can't see this [expletive] game
  23. umm, one in a bajillion? i know that coming back down three goals at the start of the third period had never happened in game 7 history, so i wouldn't be surprised that the two goals, extra attacker thing in game seven is a first as well as far as probability goes? that's a good question. you increase your chances substantially of scoring a goal, but having a goal scored on you is so much more likely. i think it's like 1 out of every 5 times a goalie is pulled late and close, an empty netter is scored. if that's true, that would be say a goal every five minutes, versus the goal every 8 minutes in the other direction if you are crappy at even strength, then yea pull your goalie as soon as possible in the 3rd with a goal+ deficit. if you are great at even strength, leave your goalie out there and let your team do its thing. there's still value in protecting from a goal against
