  1. specifically, concussions. favorite player growing up
  2. yeah, they're kind of annoying. the most annoying thing is that unlike the hawks, they're not that good. if i was going to make a case that the level of competition is higher in the east, anaheim would be example 1A. we may be talking about a historically lucky team here. their even-strength +/- is best in the league (i.e. getting results), yet their score-adjusted fenwick (as of 3/12) is 24th in the league.
  3. Yeah, but he DOES seem really dumb. Or, he's not very excited about the team and what it can accomplish. i think that's a much worse thing to say about him in regards to his return
  4. Yeah, but he DOES seem really dumb. it's only a matter of time before he takes up painting small animals
  5. i don't think it's all that outrageous or even malicious to suggest that there's some mental midgetry going on for rose right now. i don't buy the argument that he has unrealistic expectations. actually, i think it's one of the least-likely scenarios here. for him to think that he would be returning to the game of professional basketball in 100% playing condition would require profound stupidity and an uncanny ability to tune out everything that everybody has ever said about returning from a major injury is he being deceitful by prolonging his rehab artificially in order to manipulate his employer? i certainly can't personally speak to his character, but that seems unlikely right now is a bit of a no-man's land. sure, he's been cleared to play, but we're not so far removed from being cleared and the return to full practice/actual basketball that bulls fans should line up at the berto center with pitchforks and flaming torches if he doesn't come back this season? unleash the meatballery
  6. man, it was awesome when rose being a mental midget was just this funny thing and didn't make our team suck "oh hey i know that spending as few as 25 mpg on the floor would make my basketball team measurably better, but i can't go full vertical jumping off of my left foot into an easterly wind during daylight savings time on a tuesday. so [expletive] it"
  7. FedEx just dropped mine off. This is....kinda great. So awesome. Can't imagine how excited I'd be if the team were really good. Yeah, there's definitely a damper on it, but I just keep thinking "investment." you'll make up for it in volume!
  8. maybe he just likes snuff films you guys
  9. not a fan of this decision. we have two priorities: 1) win more faceoffs; 2) mitigate the drop in production due to injuries. not sure about jimmy's contribution to the first, but of the possible candidates, he's one of the least likely of the legit candidates to produce the type of game that is need to fill the void created by Sharp's injury. he's basically kyle beach with less brain damage
  10. whoever decided they'd let DROSE decide this is the clear moron. i mean, people who actually mastered standardized testing have declared this thing good to go. what's the hold up? oh, your hamstrings are on fire. who gives a [expletive], did you just have surgery on them? if anyone else not named rose was missing games cause their hamstrings were "on fire", this town would be eating them alive
  11. did they bring hockey back? no did they elevate the prominence of hockey in the dialogue of professional sports with the recent streak? yeah, duh. anyone who denies this has motives
  12. Your parents dropped you on your head. You have no idea how to comprehend the general opinion of this board. i like the cut of this guy's jib
  13. haha, nice
  14. "full time troll, part time alderman tom tunney dies after being hit by a car after being flung from a tree he fell into after tumbling from a rooftop he was standing on when a gust of his own mouth flatulence cause him to lose balance" - chicago tribune
  15. recently anyway, he has won a cup though
  16. haha, i know i'm a homer and all, but that is hilariously bad 1) not even worth dignifying 2) hitchcock is a good coach, but this: is cognitively dissonant 3) the blues have had poor goaltending. jared allen, he of sub-.900 save%, has been the least bad. therefore the blues will win the stanley cup 4) something about injuries, then the power play. umm this may come as a shock to some, but the quality of one's power play has very little correlation with how good the team is and how well they do in the playoffs. especially when the team we're referring to is 25th in the league in 5v4 minutes. besides, you spend the vast majority of your ice time 5v5, so maybe try not to be a -.5 +/- as a team over 60 minutes in that format 5) see 1
  17. he's doing a damn good job of making it difficult to hate him and revel in his misery, real or perceived
  18. ben smith
  19. yeah he got worked. welcome to the nhl son
  20. kaner beasting towards the end of that game, just didn't find the twine did anybody get a good look at that elbow shaw took to the dome? did it look intentional?
  21. i like how he acts like he's sticking his neck out when probability is decidedly in his favor though, colorado did have to travel here after losing in detroit last night and also they're playing the blackhawks, a mythical creature unexplained by science
  22. league parity, any given game, yada yada, but colorado is the definition of league average. they'll probably make the same stupid mistake they all make, offending the sensibilities of the blackhawks by trying to win. such insults cannot stand
  23. Yep, trophy city. Along those lines, did anyone think that celebration was a bit over the top? It's not like he broke any records or hit any big milestone. Great, he played a lot of games. It's not like he's on some retirement going away party. I know that's just McDonough being McDonough and pandering to the idiots, but 1,000 game celebration, particularly for a guy who played 3/4 of those games on other teams just seemed like a bit much. Whatever, Hossa rules anyway. This season is awesome. That celebration was ridiculous and his wife looked like she had no interest in being there. i just think maybe she doesn't understand english
