  1. It's nice to see the Brewers lose. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago they were 11-12 GB.
  2. Just got back from the drive home... Love Aramis! Like many others, I'd REALLY appreciate if someone could put up a vid of Hawk's reactions. :good:
  3. D-Lee and A-Ram are long overdue for a prolonged hot streak Definitely. Lee was red hot to start the year and carried this team early. Although A-Ram has had a pretty good year, he has yet to hit a 2-3 week stretch where he just mashes that ball. He usually has a few of those streaks/year.
  4. All things considered, decent job by Lilly today.
  5. I think the clock has struck midnight for Theriot. Unfortunately, Cedeno is no longer playing like he was early either. Ugh.
  6. How can they make fun of a sold out crowd? No, they were talking about how the Cubs only had about 400-500 people per game back in the day. What a dumb thing to bring up Inferiority complex.
  7. Its really not. Most of these players have been part of a terrible offensive lineup for more than a couple of years, and I thought it was more irrational to think they'd all become OBP machines for a whole season after decades of not knowing what the acronym meant. Soto and Fukudome. Ramirez is the only one of the "old" guys who has shown markedly better patience. The team is still working pitchers very well and there's no reason (up till now) to think that it's going to stop anytime soon. The way they worked Kazmir out of the game despite not being able to hit him was a thing of beauty. Unfortunately, that game just didn't work out for us. I have a feeling the panic around here would be a lot more subdued had Carlos Marmol not thought that home plate was a foot to the left of where it was yesterday. The whole Z thing obviously is looming over us, though. You're right...watching them v. Kazmir was incredible. I enjoyed watching that as much as I do watching them rough up a pitcher. And, yes, Z's injury, Mamol's complete meltdown, and the 3 game sweep have things looking worse than they probably are.
  8. Its really not. Most of these players have been part of a terrible offensive lineup for more than a couple of years, and I thought it was more irrational to think they'd all become OBP machines for a whole season after decades of not knowing what the acronym meant. Yeah, I'm just hoping that Perry's influence, along with the Fukudome acquistion, has permanently changed thing. But, we really need to get the April-early May Lee back. This is prolonged slump is becoming a real issue, IMO.
  9. I hate the fact that I have lost a lot of faith in this offense over the course of 3 games. Really, I'm mad at myself...I know it's a completely irrational thought. :banghead:
  10. It'd be nice if someone could beat the Brewers...
  11. At some point, the Cubs really need to figure out why Lilly can usually only get to 84 MPH on his fastball.
  12. That's different from regular game nights how, exactly? It's not, but I surely would have thought someone would have commented on it. Too funny. It's almost too easy.
  13. He has some other exam later today, and he'll miss at least a start. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3452978 Old news, but thanks. I meant that we haven't heard his MRI results.. It worries me that we still haven't heard anything.
  14. Why does Lilly always start the game throwing in the mid 80's? It seems like by the 4th or 5th, he's getting it to ~ 89-90 on a consistent basis. It makes all the difference.
  15. Wasn't Lee hitting .360 through ~ mid-May. He has really come crashing down.
  16. I would LOVE to get Harden...but having Hendry trying to work a deal with Billy Beane scares me.
  17. Well, that came out of nowhere :-k
  18. Lefties hit Gallagher pretty well, so I'm worried about how Sean will handle Crawford tonight. That said, the Cubs are due. We haven't lost 3 in a row all year. I'm fairly confident about this one tonight.
  19. LOL, it was awesome. "ANYTHING'S POSSIBLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!!!!!" (Repeat 2X) "This is for 'sota...Chicago!!!! *pulls hat down past eye* "We made it MA, TOP OF THE WORLD! TOP OF THE WORLD!!!!" Michelle Tafoya: So, tell us how you feel, Kevin? :-s
  20. UNC may go undefeated. Hopefully the additions of Smith and Legion, along with the continued improvements made by McCamey, Tisdale, and Davis lead Illinois back to the tournament. Starting in '09, we'll finally start to see the results of the recruiting improvements. \:D/
  21. I was just coming here to post this. What an awful deal that would be. I don't know why the Cubs value Crisp so much. Not to mention, he's a massive douchebag and I want him nowhere near this club.
