  1. Anyone else just not understand why EPatt was called up again?
  2. I'd like to see Geo get DH at least one (preferably two) game to give him some extra rest.
  3. Jesus Christ, Howry ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  4. I went last year and I thought that attendance was pretty good. I'd say the dome was over 80% full. This year's game is a lock to sell out, so I think the best option is to get tickets online as soon as they go one sale. I got tickets last year in the lower bowl for ~ $70/seat. I'm a member of the I-fund, but I'm not a huge donor so I don't think that makes much of a difference.
  5. Outside of opening day, I'm pretty sure the Dodgers don't ever do weekday home afternoon games. They played a day game yesterday (v. the Rockies), IIRC.
  6. It'd be nice to give Marmol a day off, but with Billingsley going, it's likely to be a close game. And we all know that Lou can't make it through a tight game w/out going to Marmol.
  7. I always liked Barrett. He had his faults, but he was a fiery competitor and was easy to root for, IMO.
  8. At this point, I wish Marmol would stub his toe or something and take about a week to heal up. Agreed. We need to hit a stretch where we use Marmol 2x/week for a couple of weeks. Let the other guys pitch in the 8th and if we lose, we lose. This wouldn't be a problem, even if Marmol was used in only 1-2 run ballgames, but Lou continues to send him out in the late innings, no matter what the lead is.
  9. Lou's bullpen usage = Dusty's abuse on the SP's. We have little chance of doing any damage in October without a healthy Carlos Marmol. If Lou continues at this rate, there is no way Carlos makes it through the regular season without an injury. He refuses to give him a day off, even when the team has 4-5-6 run leads. It's extremely, extremely frustrating. :banghead: :banghead:
  10. One more inning to get through. With a 4 run lead in Petco, it's perfectly ok for Wood AND Marmol to get the day off. Hopefully Lou understands this.
  11. Yup, Lou really needs to start seeing big picture with Marmol. If he continues to use him in nearly every Cubs win, no matter the score, there is no way he'll have anything left. I'm sick of it and it would be nice if someone from the media called him out on it.
  12. Unfortunately, it looks like Lou is going to use Marmol in his continued quest to wear him down by September. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  13. What an amazing game. I can't wait to go home and watch it. Would anyone mind uploading the highlights from Pat and Ron?
  14. At this point, I would consider the rest of the day a success if: Lieber and Cotts finish the ballgame and Edmonds doesn't get a hit.
  15. Ugh. Does anyone have faith in this guy facing other #2 starters in the playoffs? I don't. At all.
  16. Allowing bad hitters to get on in front of Spillborghs, Atkins and Helton isn't a good idea. ](*,)
  17. He does do a good job with keeping the starter's PC at a reasonable level, but I wish he showed the same type of restraint with Marmol. IMO, he should never be used unless it's a 1 or 2 run ballgame, or a high leverage situation.
  18. Out of all the Cubs players, Marmol deserves it the most. He's the best relief pitcher in baseball. I really, really hope he's included.
  19. Wow, what a frustrating article. Sometimes, it's very difficult to root for this organization.
  20. If only Theriot would have got on.... He was COMPLETELY overmatched in that at-bat. I'd rather see Cedeno out there.
  21. Just incredible. No one could hit Marmol ALL FREAKING YEAR and, in the first game of the playoffs, he gets hammered by the bottom of the Diamondbacks lineup (including Augie Ojeda). I just can't believe it.
