  1. Amagadjie is a disaster holy horsefeathers welp, we’re back to games 1-3 in terms of offensive effectiveness, that’s no fun
  2. Still, Williams is a special player, and can bounce back and make this a real game, and that’s the difference a TD here makes this a real game
  3. Oof, there are several opportunities for Caleb to throw when he gets out of the pocket and he opts to run it, worrisome but a very nice completion there
  4. Bahahah if this stays an incompletion the Bears are getting LUDICROUSLY lucky (and still being destroyed) I think it probably should stay incomplete because the ball moved when he hit the ground but I wouldn’t be surprised if they overturn it
  5. Woof, you hate to see the defense collapse utterly but it looks like it’s happening
  6. Damn, that’s a bummer. Washington are playing really well. Im not really mad about any of that for the Bears. Right decision to go for it. Not mad necessarily at the play call, they just made a good play
  7. Ugh I thought Caleb would get the first for sure offense still looking very herky jerky and Caleb is not delivering the ball on time (though on that play Moore and Kmet ran into each other)
  8. We’ve actually avoided disaster: being down only 6 after this kind of play so far is excellent. we have time to get the offense in order. We can get the lead in one drive. Go out there and get it.
  9. I told everyone: good offenses move and score on even great defenses in the modern NFL. Don’t be surprised by this.
  10. Man, Caleb is not looking settled down. He’s missing people he shouldn’t be and the whole offense is looking uncoordinated. Bad! Not good!
  11. Expect a lot of this : they will move the ball. absolutely disastrous to throw a drive away and to not recover the fumble
  12. I’m SO TIRED of starting horribly. Please god can we have an opening drive not look like a massacre
  13. Well, it also appears that the Jags are in complete quit mode and Trevor Lawrence is fully Trevor Bust
  14. This is the kind of game I *expect* to Bears to lose. It’s a game where they will most likely have to score quite a bit to keep up, something the Bears as a franchise has never been able to do. Yeah yeah, the defense is pretty good, but we have to view good or even great defenses as *mitigating* offenses, not shutting people down. If the goal for the Bears winning is to hope to hold the Redskins under 20 points - we’ve already lost. It’s certainly possible, but it’s not something to count on. We’re, hopefully, entering an era where our QB can continuously go toe to toe with the opponents offense. I have a sinking feeling about the game but I’m also hopeful to see something I haven’t really seen before : answering scores for scores, driving late for a chance to win, etc. We’re gonna learn a lot in any case!
  15. I have a very powerful emotional reaction to muffing kicks, and I make no apology for it
  16. I feel bad for Khari, but my god - I'm gonna throw a party for the Velus Jones release news. There are very few players have done such damage to a team's fortunes with so little playing time. I was terrified he'd be activated and muff another kick. I think Poles has been excellent for the most part over the last 3 years but his inability to cut ties with Velus shows a level of favoritism I find just a teensy bit upsetting. There was no reason for him to make the team this year, and he should have been cut at some point last year.
  17. All well and good to be biased towards your alma mater but if you're purporting to be some football soothsayer you can't be saying horsefeathers like that especially when... it's so ludicrous it almost comes across as racist.
  18. Brisker still being out suuuuucks and bodes really poorly for him. Please don't be a repeat of Mike Brown's career.
  19. Feel free to ignore because its about my grudge against a stupid obscure Chicago media person, but: I was just reminded that Hub Arkush, who everyone at the Score reveres as a football genius, was pushing JJ McCarthy as the best QB in the draft. Even without seeing a single snap of McCarthy, and just thinking about the Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams match up we're expecting, what a horsefeathers moronic thing to have said. Just, astounding in it's stupidity.
  20. Yeah I think it would be insane to make any big deal at this point for Crosby or Garrett, as much as it would be fun to fantasize about the defense with either of them. i wouldn’t be shocked if they offloaded Nate Davis though. I just wouldn’t expect more than a 5th or something for him.
  21. You asked for regression and you got defensive regression at least. this looks like a completely different Rams team than the one we played a few weeks back. Wild how getting their receivers back turns them from hapless to insanely dangerous
  22. I don't love potentially being down 2 of our best DBs again against one of the better offenses in the league. Even if they have to go with Mariota, I think they have tremendous ability to move the ball pretty well. I foresee a shoot out, honestly.
  23. I would argue that if you could produce a punter who could coffin corner on every single punt and get the ball inside the 10 or 5 every single time he punted he would be special. That would do enough to make him valuable enough for a 4th round pick. But that's not realistic or possible. Given what NFL kickers have been able to do in the last 5 or so years, where they make a 50 yarder look routine and anything short of 60+ yards a decent gamble....well who knows. There may be some revolutionizing possible in punting. But also punting has never mattered less in the NFL. Even if this year is a slight down year in offense, the overall trajectory is towards more points, points, points (no matter how much I dislike it), and more 4th down attempts. Field position has never mattered less. So who's to say.
  24. Maybe its wishcasting, but I don't "believe" in the Vikings. The whole Sam Darnold Thing I can't see working indefinitely and we're seeing cracks in it. And I also think we tend to play Goff and the Lions well. They gotta play the games, and I think there's a good chance there's some regression in play from the other NFC North teams. (There's also a good chance of regression by the Bears). I don't see any of them as worldbeaters, but they're all very strong teams with, generally, good coaching. I think it's more likely than not we end up 4th place in the division, and that would be unfortunate, but if we keep up the quality of play and end up with a winning record and out of the playoffs, so it goes. It would also be deceptively awesome to have a 4th place schedule for 2025 when we can really slap some people around. The Packers...well....if we don't get swept by them for a 6th year in a row I'll consider it a minor miracle. They have the St. Louis Cardinals magic pixie dust and will befuddle us until the end of time, for sins that the Chicago Bears have committed in some previous generation, I have no other explanation for it. The best I can say is Jordan Love turns the ball over a lot, so there's something there. Here's hoping that as Caleb Williams smashes the glass ceiling of Bears QBs, he also smashes, irrevocably, the last 4 decades of Packers ownage of us
