  1. The bright side, and it’s quite a good bright side, is it completely eliminates the possibility we could lose to the Packers in the first round of the playoffs
  2. We’re getting very close to me just not watching this because it isn’t worth this much annoyance
  3. Now feeling like I would have preferred they rest all the starters….
  4. At this point it’s unfair to the Bears offense to allow the defense to steal so much time from them. We need the reps! Just blitz every down, if they’re going to score, at least make them score fast.
  5. Borderline impressive how bad the Bears D is at getting off the field. They’re like a machine for destroying their own offense’s Time of Possession.
  6. I think I buy this to an extent but honestly... Sweat looks slow and not nearly as dynamic as he did in 2023. Maybe age and injuries have caught up to him, I dunno. A big part of D-Line play is simple physical talent - can you beat the guy in front of you, are your bigger, stronger and faster than the other guy. Aside from Booker at moments, its mostly been some craftiness from Sweat and not a whole lot else. On the other side, it looks like Maxx Crosby is for real for real available this coming off season. Which is very interesting. https://x.com/DMRussini/status/2007449541105082777?s=20
  7. I think simply they don't have enough talent on the D-Line. The fact they've spent a ton of money and still have a bottom 5 D-Line in the league is pretty brutal. Get some real mean motherfuckers next season. I don't care how, by trade or FA or by draft. Get some mean guys who want to murder quarterbacks. Also, they have had a bunch of DB injuries: still don't think Jaylon Johnson is fully healty, Nahshon Wright is a home run hitter (so-to speak) who either makes a great play on the ball or gets burned, Jaquan's play has been spotty and not having Kyler all season has hurt.
  8. At the end of the day, Ben Johnson clearly thinks it matters, so he’s playing he’s guys like it’s a do or die game. That’s fine. I don’t think it’s clearly one or the other. Maybe the worst thing would be to hedge and kinda try and sit some starters and not everyone. I worry about injuries because injuries occur in every single football game. I worry about our WR health and depth, I worry about our defensive backfield. I hope nobody gets hurt. I hope we pound them and get revenge and tune up our guys and secure the second seed. Let’s see what happens.
  9. Yeahhhhhh I think we definitely want to win on Sunday. as anxious as a Packers rematch makes me, it’s a MUCH better match up for us than any of the NFC West teams
  10. A thought I just had is we probably win this game if half of our players aren’t sick with the flu. interesting thing to think about is how hard they try to win next week. It’s not meaningless, a win could be the difference between the 2 and 3 seed, but at the same time we have some banged up players and if we’re gonna sit a handful of important players in a less-than-necessary game, you may as well just sit everyone important. I would hate to lose a player to injury in that game, but also… hmmm… it’s not so simple.
  11. I probably felt better about the team after the loss more than anything. They went blow for blow with one of the best teams in the NFC on the road and the offense and Caleb are legit. The defense is crap but that’s nothing new. re: Purdy, I get being frustrated with the love he was getting from Collinsworth over Caleb, it’s horsefeathers ridiculous. But at the same time, he is horsefeathers good. The disrespect he gets is pretty ridiculous at this point. He’s accurate as hell, he gives his receivers tremendous opportunity for YAC, he doesn’t take a lot of sacks. He’s had some injuries the last couple years but he’s a legit good Qb.
  12. what a game best i've ever felt after a loss football is redeemed. ben johnson has brought life back to the bears. i love it
  13. oh my god...... drops
  14. what a helluva time for Colston Loveland to have his first drop
  15. It's like the 2013 Bears, except the Offense is actually good and not just Cutler/McCown throwing balls up to Alshon Jeffery. Oh and they have an actually smart coach and not one of the dumbest to ever hold the position
  16. Actually.... thats far from the worst thing to happen. They are leaving us a lot of time to drive.
  17. Getting held to 3 points here is pretty much game, given how the defense has played
  18. daaaaaaamn i was really not feeling the go for it there but damn did that look nice
  19. SF D-Line is getting a lot of penetration...
  20. I really hate the new kick off rules
  21. Bears Offense: Gutsy, long drive to tie the game Bears Defense: Let's just give up 25 yards immediately
  22. I hope he’s enjoying the 2025 Bears, wherever he is
  23. I'm ok with the trade of having buttcheeks defense and an actual professional (good, even!) offense. I got what I wanted, I can't complain about it.
  24. That call is pretty crummy... I mean they kinda have to call it, but it really didn't influence the receiver or the play at all. Oh well.
  25. the Bears will probably lose but this game rocks already I love Caleb Williams
