  1. Are you serious Bears? Are you seriously going to do this to me again? if Rome isn’t healthy enough to make that catch, SIT HIM
  2. this was, very lowkey, the nadir of that season. certainly not a game they blew at the end like they did 5 or 6 other times but just complete and total offensive incompetence, caleb looked awful, Bears had every chance to win if they could put together half a drive. very depressing game to watch. at least i'm reasonably sure we wouldn't duplicate that result
  3. Making this switch in the midst of a playoff run when every player LG to RT has taken every single snap this season ... is kind of insane yes.
  4. I don't mind the Interception but the two flags at the end kind of bother me. Yeah, thats how the game is called often these days, but it just sucks when the corner is playing well, is in good position, is looking back, and they get flagged for PI. It's almost a cheat code to just throw it up in the air and 2/3 times you get something good happening. Its so, so hard to play defense in this league and they only make it harder.
  5. everything is coming together for a Super Bowl XX rematch. we just need the Bears win (twice more)
  6. Ok, being a Bears fan is brutal, but it can’t compare to being a Bill fan, particularly not one who is old enough to remember those 90s Bills teams
  7. Uhuhhh this is like completely insane right Thuney hasnt played there all season and while Benedet had issues he was at least serviceable. I hope this is just disinfo to throw LA off because it seems completely irresponsible to me
  8. Are we? We got Bregman, cool. That's an upgrade at 3b. But we lost Kyle Tucker and will probably downgrade production from RF from 2025. That reads to me like a wash on our offense from 2025 to 2026. Are we improving? I can see the argument that we haven't declined in quality. Are we better than last year?
  9. Your brain has been broken having been forced to watch Mitch Trubisky, Justin Fields, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer, Todd Collins, Chase Daniel, Matt Barkley, Nick Foles… this is not your fault. The Bears did this to you. However, there is a cure: to watch more Caleb Williams
  10. If that's a serious offer, and it goes through the Indiana legislature, etc. etc., well, the Bears would be stupid not to take it. And Illinois shouldn't try to match it. It's a stupidly huge giveaway from the Indiana taxpayer to the McCaskey family.
  11. uh holy horsefeathers
  12. One of the things I appreciate about Caleb is he is a reminder that football is a game not a collection of statistics - football isn't baseball. You only get 17 discrete data points, and each throw within those data points has its own wide range of contexts all while there are 10 other players involved each having their own jobs to do and succeeding or failing within them and.... etc. Caleb is clearly a baller. The advanced stats have come a long way but they're always going to be highly imperfect, far more imperfect than baseball stats could ever be. He confounds them, they can't really capture how good he is. Football is a highly emotional, violent game. And the eye test is confirmation that Caleb is really goddamn good. And thats why no matter what they have a chance on Sunday.
  13. I'm not crazy that 4 years, 240, 60 mil AAV is a pretty good team deal right? Like, not a lot of years, no guarantees to really take on his decline years, lots of potential opt outs. 60 mil is a ton per year but because its so short its not a huge price tag overall. If I had heard the Cubs gave him that deal, I would have been ecstatic, is what I'm saying.
  14. Wait, that was IT? 4 years 240? What a weird deal
  15. I hate to say it but I think it may help the run defense to have DeMarco Jackson out there instead of TJ Edwards. Jackson has just locked faster and better getting to the ball carrier this year. I also don't know how effective Billings has been and him being out in the second half of the game correlated to better production by the D-Line. I love Billings, he's probably the guy I enjoy seeing playing out there of anyone, but he's really not soaking up blockers or causing much disruption.
  16. I really think it makes a lot of sense, for your professional career, to stay longer in college and develop more. But getting one year closer to generational wealth (and NIL money can be big time, but its not the same as tens of millions) is a helluva incentive to leave early. As an NFL GM, I'm definitely not gonna spend an early draft pick on a guy who only has 1 year starting though. Never repeat the Mitch Trubisky mistake.
  17. I just really don't think the conditions are conducive to a 40 or 50 point effort from either offense. There'll be too many dropped balls or too much running the ball for that to happen. I think you're right. So excited for Sunday. No nerves or anything. I'd just love to see them play a complete 60 minute game, put their best foot forward, and come what may.
  18. Lavishing praise on Caleb while ignoring all the hate he dumped on him, naturally
  19. It's a shame they didn't completely demolish old Soldier Field, colonnades and all, in 2002 and build a much bigger stadium there when they had the chance. I suppose its impossible to think about them doing that now, but it was a real missed opportunity at the time.
  20. Does everyone remember the two plays - one to Loveland and one to Kmet, where they caught the ball, turned around, took a couple steps, and then had the balls knocked out from them? Those alone account for ~4% bump in completion percentage and also drives dying. Caleb's still not a finished product, and I'm more than happy where he is. I'm more than confident he'll be in the mid-60%s for completion rate by next year. I don't know if he'll ever be a 70% guy, thats not really this kind of offense. That's fine.
  21. This reads like a lot of cope to me
  22. This is certainly encouraging. Funny how things have switched from the majority leader saying "it's insulting to even TALK about Bears stadium stuff" to this. I'm ok with them putting some money behind infrastructure and some tax breaks (though certainly not entire giveaways). The fact that the Bears supposedly can finance the stadium itself is news to me. I wonder what's changed.
  23. I'm gonna be real annoying for a second: I think the focus on Caleb's throw in OT to DJ is misplaced. The far more impressive and meaningful throw he made in that game was the game-tier to Jahdae Walker on 4th down with the blitz in his face. That throw was do-or-die, with a blitzer right there, and required incredible touch to make happen. The one to DJ was fun and a game winner, and I think technically quite difficult, but it was on 1st down and they were getting close to FG range anyway. I just think its weird the Jahdae Walker one has gotten almost completely ignored.
  24. lmao thats probably more embarrassing than Brett Favre's last play and now he wont come back out what a horrible guy and a horrible legacy. rest in piss, Rodgers.
