It’s funny how the thing Kevin Warren was hired to do, get a stadium built, he’s absolute horsefeathers at, but the thing I (and I imagine most fans) care the most about, getting a good coach, he was at least somewhat a part of. So who’s to say if he deserves to be fired or not, lol

oh totally agreed. they've done it in the most annoying way possible and this is very likely not the end of it. this drama fest may continue for years

And on the other side, Adam Hoge is saying that from what he hears (from whom? does he have any reliable connection to the Bears org?) that the Indiana proposal is not only serious but close to being done. I think anything's on the table. I'm exhausted by the whole thing and just want them to be done with it. Do not care where it is, other than I don't want Illinois to further bankrupt itself in keeping the Bears here.

I am absolutely baffled by every move the Bears ownership signals. They are schizophrenic, switching from preference to preference, pulling the rug out, repeatedly, on their fanbase. In the abstract, I really don't care if they move to Northwest Indiana, hell, saddle Indianans with that tax bill. Doesn't bother me at all. But the way they've handled this has been so bizarre. Just pick a lane, horsefeatherss!

I guess it comes down to whether you feel confident at 25 if you can find a guy who is equivalent to Maxx Crosby at age 29. I think... it's usually pretty dicey that thats the case. It certainly happens! How much of an edge scouting wise do you think you have on the 24 other teams in finding that guy?

I'm smashing that "yes" button as soon as possible but I don't really think there's any likelihood that Las Vegas parts with Crosby for so little

Eh, you know, I'm convinced. a 3rd or 4th rounder for Bagent would make sense. Getting assets who can fit holes we have and may see the field are valuable. I still like Bagent for what he is, but he's not irreplaceable. I trust Ben to find a guy who can spot start if need be.

Ok, so it looks like they're going to stay in Illinois and be in Arlington Heights, which is what we all thought was going to be the case. At the end of the day the biggest blunder the Bears made was buying up Arlington Track before making any sort of deal with the state and municipality. A completely unforced error because I don't think there was any bidding war for the property. But they're where they need to be. So I guess... maybe sometime in like 2031 we'll have a new stadium.

A competent back up QB is a very valuable thing in this league and I think having Bagent around is worth as much as a 3rd or 4th rounder to the team. God forbid the NFL does go to a 18 game season, I think we'll unfortunately there's a likelihood to see some meaningful Bagent snaps.

I haven't done a deep dive on this draft yet (god bless, the Bears have been so good that I haven't felt the need to), but reportedly this is an Edge heavy draft. If you think Maxx is gonna produce better over the next couple years better than whatever you can get at 25, then I say go for it. The team is ready to compete right now, so I don't mind making that trade. You can make the money work. But if its marginal... well, better to get the younger cheaper guy.

Maybe. It's a really competitive division with, regrettably, a lot of very smart coaches and executives in it. I fear it will be a dog fight for several years to come. Jordan Love isn't going anywhere, and he's at least good. The Lions had a down year but that took a ton of injuries and Eberflusian botched games to merely go 9-8. The Vikings had one of the worst QB Situations this side of a Bears season and they still went 9-8. I do think the sun is setting on those teams faster than on us, as we're the ascendant power... but they have smart coaches. I wish they didn't. I'd like to think we're gonna dominate the NFC North like the Packers did from the late 90s until.... well basically a couple years ago. But I fear it'll be competitive for a while.

I think the Vikings decision had something to do with the cap but more to do with having just drafted McCarthy and not knowing what you had in him because he was hurt his entire rookie season. Apparently one of the last straws for the Vikings re: Kwesi was the fact they couldn’t get onto Daniel Jones, who would have provided McCarthy insurance this year. They almost certainly qualify for the playoffs if they get Jones and not the gaggle of back ups they went into 2025 with. anyway it’s really funny to let a Super Bowl winning QB walk out of the building because of JJ McCarthy. What a disastrously embarrassing move on every level.

It’s really funny to say Michael Penix, who’s on his 3rd? knee surgery and is like 28 years old is a better pick than Caleb Williams

I’m sure Poles would be more than happy to get two 3rd round picks as a bonus, but the NFL made it clear it ain’t gonna happen and there’s no use in making bad blood over it.

There's no world I want to give up 3 first round picks for a guy who's on the wrong side of 30, doesn't matter if he's a lock hall of famer. The problem with football players is they often hit a horsefeathers brick wall of production SUDDENLY and you have no idea when its gonna happen, but it WILL happen. Some players are physical miracles, some do things you wouldn't think is possible well into their 30s (I can't believe what Derrick Henry is doing for example), but you make a lot more money betting against that happening than FOR it happening. Man I don't even know if I would do it for 2 first round picks. I just don't know if you can mortgage that much future for him. 1st and a 2nd and some other pieces? Absolutely.

Simply laughable to not put a coach with 6 Super Bowl victories into the HOF on first ballot, come on The Football HOF is going to make itself as picky-choosy as the Baseball one

Trubisky making the Pro Bowl was laughable, but his numbers were safely above average in that year. Shadeur, by contrast, has a legitimate case for having the worst season of any QB last season.

I know the NFL is the "what have you done for me lately" league, but I feel like a lot of Bears fans have been excessively harsh on Odunze. Yeah, his hands have disappointed me a bit, but he was becoming a very good (and really, the favored) option for Caleb until he broke his foot roughly halfway through the season. From like, week 10 on, he basically wasn't available in a real way. And he did everything he could to be available. That means a lot to me. i'm not jumping to any conclusions about him and I'm not declaring him a bust. Let's see what a full season of availability with him and Caleb looks like next year.
