  1. Vasher on Mike Williams ain't going to work, they should have known that from the beginning. Where did Tillman go? I don't want to see Hester on defense ever again. Please, god, no.
  2. Its the worst article about the Bears i've ever read. It basically says expect the Bears to be upset in the first round because they are a bunch of overrated wimps.
  3. Dont tell anyone but those are spread pools.
  4. Calvin Johnson deserves 3 minutes alone (with a bat) in a room with Reggie Ball to pay back what Reggie did to his college career.
  5. They might not play at all. I'd rathernot risk a longterm injury in a game like this. But I do want to see everyone that is healthy go 100% until at least half time.
  6. I have to be honest here, if I was a Lions fan I would be fuming right now. Why does Millen still have a job? Has anybody had worse drafts than this guy? He is just plain terrible. Yeah I don't see why this is a bad thing. Sure they've got your money already, but that's not going to change. I'd be looking to do anything that shows anyone who cares enough to notice that I'm unhappy as a fan. That team and franchise has been so bad for so long. I can imagine the fans are just sick of it. empty seats at a NFL game for the entire game is a lot more effective But if you already bought season tickets there isn't much you can do about it....
  7. It's been made to be. A team retiring a players number is second only to a HOF induction in terms of the size of the honor. To issue the number of a former player who happened to be your franchise player and a sure-fire HOF'er to a mediocre pitcher is a slap in the face. Sometimes moreso. There are plenty of players in the HOF that have numbers that weren't retired by their team. (And vice versa, obviously.) Its becoming an issue for the Bears, because they are running out of linebacker numbers.
  8. Sheesh. The only thing worse than that Thurs. matchup is the guy who will be doing the play-by-play. That, and all the commercials for this match up. Wow, last Lambeau leap for Favre? Yea, this year also happens to have the FIRST Lambeau Leap for Favre. Really not something he did too often.
  9. Does it really matter? I'd like to see us finish 14-2, but everything is pretty moot from here on out. (I'd like to see our offense and defense do well, but the outcome doesn't really matter to me. Much like a preseason game.) Except that Packers game.
  10. I'll take SF. I win, you lose. Alex Smith's quietly becoming a half-decent NFL QB. Aww, shucks, I was hoping he'd be a terrible bust.
  11. Woop! Twice in that game i thought it was completely over.
  12. We shouldn't play a team as bad as the Hawks so close. C'mooooon Bulls. (Shoot free throws better)
  13. Anderson can'd handle that. We absolutely don't have the personell for a 3-4, our d-line is too small, and you really think Scott/Boone can be a nose tackle for a 3-4? Ya, right.
  14. While somewhat amusing as a joke, Alex Brown has played some DT, and may play some more. I wouldn't minda line that has 3 pure defensive ends rushing the passer. Against the run? Uh oh.
  15. Whaaa??? Legendary voice?? Not homeristic? I like Joniak, but niether of these descriptions seem very befitting. Oh god if you think Joniak is a homer, listen to the Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Denver or Indy play-by-play guys. They are downright terrible.
  16. This is a very, very, very good indicator of Super Bowl teams. I believe there hasn't been a team since the 80's that won the superbowl that wasn't in the top ten in points allowed. (Those Raider teams screwed everything up  )
  17. i hate that name and i cant stand jeff joniak Why (hating Joniak)? i dont like his voice for whatever reason, he calls a good game, his voice just annoys me though. I've grown used to it. And I've grown to dislike the accepted "professional play-by-play" voice that so many guys have trained themselves to imitate. Well, more like grown tired of hearing the same vocal tone over & over again from guys. Joniak's original sounding, if a little amateur-ish. And he knows Bear football very, very well. If I didn't have the DirecTV delay I'd turn down the volume and turn on the radio broadcast every game. The only thing that dissapoints me about Joniak is his appearance doesn't live up to his legendary voice. I love him because he calls a very, very good game, and he supports the Bears without sounding too homer-istic.
  18. Marinelli has said that Kitna's his guy for 2007, which could lend credence to the theory that they might draft Quinn and Carson Palmer him for a year. I know that Quinn is magically somehow the lock for the first overall pick in the draft, but, is anyone else thinking that he could become a huge bust? I mean, yeah, he's been playing in that pro-style offense for two years and is the "most ready" but I haven't been impressed with him in any big game at the college level. Do I think he'll bust? No. I think he'll be a pretty safe pick. But I don't think he's as safe as everyone thinks he is.
  19. I hate HATE HATE HATE how the Saints leapfrogged us. That is just incredibly frustrating. Nothing we could have done on Monday Night could have stopped that, clearly. We HAVE to win a playoff game this year. I wont deal with us at least not going to the NFC Championship with the NFC this weak.
  20. Go Bears and Go Redskins. I'd prefer that we have something to play for as long as possible. I don't like resting starters too much before the playoffs. We have a bye anyway, so rest shouldn't be an issue. Gotta keep getting in a rhythm, I'd like to see Grossman get another 2 good starts, and then play a half in the last game.
  21. Yup, he's really justifying being in there instead of Benson. It was really desmond clark that blew the block.
  22. So the Bears have tie-breakers over New Orleans? I didn't think that was the case. WE HAVE NO CONFERENCE LOSSES HOW CAN WE NOT? If we don't get HFA, its our own fault; Bears' [8-0 in NFC] remaining schedule strength; (@STL 5-7, TB 3-10, @DET 2-11, & GB 5-8 = 15-36 [10-29 after tonight]) Saints' [8-1 in NFC] remaining schedule strength; (WAS 4-9, @NYG 7-6, & CAR 6-7 = 17-22) Yes, but look at the way each team is playing and the injury situation. HFA is far, far from assured. We would need to win 3/4. If we lose tonight, we will need to win out to secure it. If the Bears win tonight HFA is done. No way they lose 2 of 3 to Tampa, Detroit, and GB. If they lose tonight, I'll start to get worried about locking up the #1 seed. I almost want it to come down to winning the last game. That way we don't "rest" everyone for the playoffs and we also don't sit our team and let Green Bay beat us. How sure are you that we will win tonight? I DON'T KNOW SOUL, WE SEEM TO LOSE EVERY GAME TO THE NINERS AND EVERY BAD TEAM CHRIST YOU PREDICT WE LOSE EVERY GAME
  23. The Bears are wearing all white uniforms. I haven't seen those since 2002. Wow.
  24. So the Bears have tie-breakers over New Orleans? I didn't think that was the case. WE HAVE NO CONFERENCE LOSSES HOW CAN WE NOT?
  25. I'm nervous in the sense that I want him to shut the local and national media up for at least a week, and am not looking forward to the backpatting that will happen if he craps the bed and Griese comes in. I'm actually more concerned about the defense than Rex. I'm nervous for Rex only because I want him, specifically, to succeed. Generally, in football I don't pull for a specific Bear player to succeed -- but Rex is different. I like him, and I like his make-up. I think if he can get over this hump, we'll have a real by-God Quarterback we can count on. I'm strangely not nervous about this game because I know its essentially inconsequential. The play of Rex will determine which quarterback will play, and basically, we'll be deciding who the starter is during this game. Thats fine. There some security in that thought. Also, we only have to go 2-2 in the remaining games to secure HFA, so if we lose, oh well.
