  1. Obviously you were not alive in the 70's Oh, for the days of Steve Swisher, Jerry Morales, and Ivan DeJesus. Now that was some baseball. Steve Swisher fathered Nick Swisher. http://files.myopera.com/Eddie_Lopez/blog/The_More_You_Know.jpg[/img]
  2. ok...but putting that in context...seattle didn't make the postseason...therefore, it has no event on my arguement are you serious? yes I'm confused as to why the Seattle record "has no event". The point was that Seattle had a winning record in one run games, and yet that didn't affect their overall record. Indians had a losing record in one run games, and yet they managed to still win 93 games. Those are both significant in that it shows that one run games have little to no effect on overall record. Who made the playoffs has nothing to do with anything. yeah, i meant to say no bearing...i am just waking up...sorry for the shoddy typing... but i am not relating it to the season...i am trying to relate it to the postseason and series I think if you did the research it would show little to no correlation between "record in 1 run games" and "postseason success"
  3. Yes. Love him for his production. And for being so darn cute! *manlove*
  4. I think if we can blow teams out for 40 straight games we'd be sittin pretty. Do people not understand that blowing teams out is more impressive than winning close games? I think its a pretty common misconception. Winning close games just means you got a little lucky and was evenly matched with another team. Blowing a team out means you beat them in every sense of the game.
  5. Is it wrong that I love Ryan Theriot for being gritty, and trying really hard? I love you, Riot.
  6. You know Flames, its things like that that make being a Cub fan the best. The stupid rituals, the annoying Ronnie Woo Woos, the dependence on curses. I just don't think you get it.
  7. The...world...out...of balance.... Wuertz giving up home runs.... Cubs offense scoring runs.... What is occurring here?
  8. Dunn should go on an A-rod-esque tear, and then ask to be traded to the Cubs. :x
  9. I think we should put Wuertz into the rotation. God I love Wuertz in a way that only a man can feel.
  10. Who cares if hes knocking the ball all over the place and his OPS is still .938 for the season. I'm pretty sure I covered that. His OPS in 2005 was an insane 1.150 or something though. Look, if he's still OBPing .400 and SLG .500+ then I'm happy.
  11. Ten bucks says he doesn't hit 35.
  12. Dear Albert, Considering I somehow got you in my fantasy draft with the 4th pick when all 3 of the guys infront of me were under the influence of some sort of psychotic mushroom...I guess I deserve this.
  13. My post was kind of sarcastic. But yeah, his power isn't 2005 power, but we all knew that.
  14. Ok, seriously, the DLee Power Apologists (LOL) need to stop. You are completely losing grip with reality. Until this day, he hasn't given a ball a ride at all. He wont get close to 40 home runs (Likely wont touch 30 either) this year. That is an issue. But he will still be a valuable player.
  15. WATCH OUT THE CUBS ARE IN DANGER OF WINNING A GAME
  16. I can't believe how long they are prolonging this freakin' series. Friday? Come on! There needs to be only one off day for games in the same city and maybe, MAYBE, two off days for travel days. We also need to go back to a 5 game series in the first round, but we may never see that again. Alright Bulls, lets sink this sinking ship quickly with a defeat of the wounded monster on Friday. (Something tells me this series wont end that quickly though)
  17. 'least the Bulls won. And those who aren't Bulls fans? Too bad for you.
  18. Can we please get an ounce of respect after this exhibition? We put those boys to work tonight. This by no means is the end of the series, but we took care of business on our hand, and have to just drop the hammer. If we can get out of this series with only 5 or 6 games, that would keep us reasonably fresh against the Pistons. Suck it, Heat. How many are still picking them to win in 6? Frequent Chicago-hater and possible gay-lover of Jay Mariotti, Skip Bayless picked them in 5 I believe. (Also wouldn't stop talking about Hinrich intentionally trying to break Wade's wrist or something. Annoying)
  19. BULLS! Also the cubs have 0 runs on 8 hits LOL
  20. Lou Piniella will die with not a bang but a whimper.
  21. How long until the Cubs pitchers stop trying completely because the offense is inept and instead of losing close games we just get blown out every game?
  22. I've come in from the at least partly successful Bulls to tell all you guys that I pity you that you are actually watching this. The Cubs should just forfeit the remaining 140 so games. It'll save them the shame.
  23. My brother turns to me and sarcastically said: "What is Jason Kapono turning into the next best player in the NBA? JEsus this guy never misses"
  24. And the Bulls get em right where they want them... And let em crawl back to nearly tie it. God damnit Bulls. Stop playing with my heart. YOU NEED THIS GAME
  25. And now the B.S. calls for Wade begin.
