  1. Well liked college players going to teams that you don't like! Oh no! I'm sorry they don't do what you like, sir.
  2. Too much optimism in this thread. We lose, badly, 1-0 or something. We can't scrap up any runs against the young lefty. I had a good feeling about sweeping the Cardinals and going into that series, and now all that optimism is gone.
  3. Maybe the NFL knows what we've been saying all along....ND is overrated! ND kinda got slapped in the face a little the last two days. Both Darius Walker (Never thought he'd be a pro player, anyway) and Rhema Mcknight didn't get drafted. Abiamiri will be a good player, however, and Harris went to the right team with the Broncos. Interstingly, my draft mag had Brady Quinn completely rated exactly as he was in this draft, going to the Kansas City Chiefs at 23, so I don't expect the people "on the inside" where that surprised he dropped so far. Sean Salisbury can slobber over himself all he wants, but it seems like Quinn was just not that highly sought after.
  4. Agreed. The Bears got the best TE in the draft, a playmaking DE with 26 sacks in the last 2 years, a All-American guard, and a speedy RB. If nothing else, Wolfe can make teams pay even when they kick away from Hester on kickoffs. Wolfe will be a good option on passing downs. Catching the ball isn't exactly Benson's strong suit. He adds a dimension that the Bears didn't have. He's a great change-of-pace/third down running back...and Booker and Irons were gone at the time. Bush wasn't an option in this situation - Pittman should have been since he's got a different style from Benson (and he's a great value there), but I can see why they didn't go that way. Wolfe wasn't going undrafted but I think the Bears could have gotten him in the 4th or 5th. The Bears have never been concerned with getting the guy "when he should have been picked." I don't call them reaches, but they are just "getting their own guy". We could have gotten Mark Bradley in the 3rd round of the 2005 Draft. We could have gotten Danieal Manning, no doubt, in the 3rd or 4th round in the 2006 draft. But the Bears didn't want anyone else available. Its just the way they are. They don't go out of their way to get value. Bazuin and Wolfe are both "reaches" but they got who they wanted, so they are happy. Then they came back and made some quality picks later on. All the DB picks get me head scratching, but oh well.
  5. Sweeping the Heat was critical because we need all the energy against the well-rested Pistons. Bravo, Bulls, Bravo. I was close to abandoning you guys after that last game fiasco, but you regained my confidence. Thank you for the first series win without Michael, and lets make it 3 more. :D
  6. Ryan Theriot IsoD in the minors .084 Ronny Cedeno IsoD in the minors .051 in the majors .031 on a .283 career OBP, HOLY CRAP THATS BAD Izturis IsoD .036 on a career .295 OBP. Yeah, I'll take Theriot, thank you very much.
  7. I don't find that suprising at all. Pittman would be a worse version of Benson, and APete has some bulk too. Why draft duplicate players? Pittman is a very different back vs Benson. More of a slasher. He was held back at OSU because T. Smith ran alot with the ball. I think he is gonna be a stud in the NFL. Yeah, completely different. Benson's what 225-230? Pittman's 207, runs a 4.4-4.5. He's a completely different type of back. I'll give the benifit of the doubt on the other Bear picks, but Wolfe over Pittman is just not logical IMO. It appears that other NFL teams...disagree with you and agree with Angelo. I mean, I rooted for the Buckeyes, and Pittman's one helluva player, but listing him at 207 is actually a bit high. He played at about 190. So in reality, he isn't much heavier than Wolfe.
  8. Because getting pressure from the front 4 is perhaps the most important thing you need to do to run our defense, and by the end of the season that almost dissapeared. Ogun and Brown have both been fairly dissapointing. At least one of them is leaving after this year. And you'd like a rotation of D-linemen, always fresh. Huh? I don't see that at all. Exactly how many sacks did they combine for in the final 8 games of the season? 5 or something?

  10. Unbelievable "analysis" from Peter Schrager on Foxsports: "SCHRAGER ON THE SCENE: Greg Olsen "slips" to 31 and the Bears scoop him up. I'm not sure how a guy who had arguably the most underwhelming college career in recent Miami football memory could "slip" in a draft, but that's the word buzzing around here. Dwayne Jarrett, meanwhile, still hasn't been taken. You know, the same Dwayne Jarrett who holds every career receiving record in USC history. I'm mildly disappointed with the Bears fans' jerseys in the stands: Rex Grossman, Brian Urlacher, Devin Hester, Walter Payton. Yawn. Where's the Curtis Enis throwback?" Greg Olsen had Kyle Wright and other assorted trash throw to him, and STILL took over a couple ball games and he's a dissapointment? Are you serious? Man that Calvin Johnson sure underachieved a bit, didn't he? He had clinically [expletive] Reggie Ball throwing to him and we all know he's under control of that. Nice to slip in a random and apparently meaningless insult about a previous Bear draft. (No one from that regime is still in charge)
  11. Adam Dunn stolen base. 8-) God damnit these managers have no idea how to run a baseball team. Why is he batting 6th? So his on base can get mostly wasted? [expletive].
  12. Hill can't possibly have a poor start against this pathetic offense can he? Please.
  13. I wouldn't mind him on the Bears, but we have more pressing needs. We'll find the next Adrian Peterson in the 6th round or something.
  14. *yawn*
  15. Look at Greg Olsen. Look at how handsome and physically perfect he is. *swoon*
  16. There was this big sporting event today, maybe you've heard of it...
  17. The worst mistake a football team can make is to sit on their hands and say " We are happy with our team, we don't need to improve" All I know is I waited 6 hours for the first Bears pick...and I got 20 more picks to go for the second. Oh well. Sigh. They only have so many roster spots. ...You honestly believe that they can't draft people that can at least take back up or practice squad spots?? Possibly, they have a pretty talented team. Perhaps Eric Weddle was the only player left they felt could make an impact for them. Maybe they are worried about cap space. Hording picks is nice but sometimes you have to go get "your guy". Oh no doubt, and the perceived notion that this draft isn't that deep. But every draft is deep with Angelo. 8-)
  18. On the other hand, what the frick has happened to Zach Duke?

  20. I'll take Quinn/Jarrett without a doubt. Yep, exactly. Apparently the football teams disagree with you.

  22. I guess teams just really don't like this draft if they are throwing around draft picks like this. Lord knows Angelo is going to steal 2-3 pro bowlers somehow in the middle rounds. I LOVE IT!
  23. How did we fleece the Chargers so bad, jesus christ.
  24. San Diego must really have wanted someone We fleeced them.
  25. Greg Olsen + Bulls win + Recent Cubs winning streak = A happy Chicago Sports fan, am I.
