    I guess Marquis decided to have his good starts in the middle of the year instead of the beginning. Fine with me, keep it up Jason. Just don't impress the boys too much and get yourself on the playoff roster if/when it comes to it.

    ..says the guy with Cedeno in his signature. Cedeno's career .253/.289/.355 Fontenot's career .265/.340/.395 I see what your saying though. Cedeno hasn't been such hot stuff either, but his at bats have been a bit more promising. I'm going to be brutally and horribly honest, if some of those warning shot blasts by Fontenot made it over the wall I'd have a complete 180 on him, but they didn't so I'm not.

    Fontenot has been such trash since his hot month last year I honestly have seen enough of him for a lifetime

    YES YES YES YES YES YES YES They moved Fukudome up! But if you're going to throw out Derosa, Fontenot, Blanco, and Cedeno in order against Halladay...it's going to be a bad day. Looks a tad like a "Lets get out of here and lose" lineup. Hopefully it doesn't end up that way. GL cubs

    Amazing, amazing. You know whats the predictable thing? Phillies spent all their runs up last night, proceed to lose the last 2 games of the series and lose the series to the Cardinals.

    Mmmmm, I don't know if its worth it honestly. It depends on what kind of deal, honestly. There is diminishing returns as far as how 'good' you're team can be. Eventually each piece you add doesn't increase the chances your team has to win the world series that much. Improving over the average playoff team is nice, but at a certain point you can't really guarantee much in the playoffs, its not a total crapshoot but it might as well be one. Making the playoffs is the number one concern, and if your goal is to win the World Series, the number one concern is making the playoffs for several years in order to give yourself a better chance. Frankly, and this is perhaps in error, I believe making the playoffs for several years in a row gives you a better chance to win the World Series than fielding one spectacular team. Remember the 116 win Mariners and the 83 win Cardinals my friends.

    I pretty much agree with you. I hate to turn back on my statistically inclined self, but considering all he does is hit weak grounders its pretty terrible in a situation like that.

    I don't even think it's a popular belief. Don't confuse this board with the rest of the Cubs-following world. You're right. We're way smarter than everyone else.

    Up until recently, Swisher's line driver percentage was actually higher than his batting average, so god knows he'd been getting unlucky. Perhaps more unlucky than any other hitter in the first two months has ever been. I really like him and I think he'll be a good asset to the Sox.

    I'm awaiting the Angelo phone call to get me in uniform. I don't understand how the Packers can annually strike gold with scrub Running Backs year after year and we can't even get production from our 4th overall pick
