yet he's also on pace to have his highest VORP and highest EqA in a cub uniform, which is a lesson on how overrated OPS is as a statistic. As flawed as OPS is, I really really wish the hobgoblins at ESPN would ditch their lovefest over BA and RBI and adopted it. Its not the best thing, but its easier for people to accept and easily use. Its not a bad bench mark. But this situation shows its flaws. I'd much much much much rather have a player with a .400 OBP and .500 SLG then a player with .350 OBP and .550 SLG, though both would be very valuable players.

Why does the HOF have to be in the middle of the season, and for gods sake why does it have to be an exhibition. The baseball gods are throwing some curveballs at us, it really sucks -

Don't you understand? The curveball is never a strike, its too confusing for umps so they always call it a ball. Either it crossed through to zone too high, or it finished too high or something, they'll make anything up
