  1. boys.....surely you can figure out a way to get a run here. its not rocket science
  2. cubs are not allowed to lose this game, again, i dont make the rules. you have to figure out a way to win
  3. I havne't watched a minute of this game but you're not allowed to have 7 hits and 2 walks and have zero runs i dont make the rules, i just enforce them
  4. hate that i have to say this but anything but a straight pounding of these fools is unacceptable
  5. I still miss and pine for Len. I will never quite understand how we lost him
  6. 162 game seasons are long and even the best teams have long stretches where its pure misery. we're not at pure misery, but it is an annoying stretch.
  7. i demand more runs more runs for the run god. this cannot stand
  8. This is one of those games where we remember baseball is an incredibly random and often stupid sport
  9. It's impossible for me to really look back on 2016 without the knowledge that they'd run the table but I feel like it was pretty clear that team was gonna be dominant all season long and it was never close. This team's dominance is definitely more of a surprise (of course it may end at any moment), but that team also had something very fun : a young crew coming all up at the same time who were hitting their primes concurrently. We have PCA of course, but not the same stacked graduating class like in 2016 (Schwarbs aside, because of the ACL tear) Also that pitching staff was insane, and very fun. I'm not having MORE fun than 2016, but its been, and I am confident, will continue to be fun.
  10. Thank god im not watching this because i probably would have lost it seeing that first inning
  11. I totally forgot Javier Assad existed until I read this thread.
  12. This team rocks so hard several bats go cold and Michael Busch goes beast mode best team since 2016 bar none
  13. If Jed can find a way to extend Tucker and give PCA a longterm contract im happy
  14. I just like, don’t care about any of the other teams in the division right now. Seasons going too good, the vibes are too good, for me to care if the Brewers/Cardinals whatever are overperforming or not. if the cubs keep doing what they’re doing they’re fine and those losers don’t matter (until we maybe see one of them in the playoffs?)
  15. Seems like the teams coming out of the slump* *provided they have more runs in em today
  16. This is the thing I never understood about pitchers facing Javy, and now pitchers facing PCA. Why would you ever throw a fastball even vaguely near the zone? Just throw breaking balls WAAAAY out of the zone if you get to two strikes and its an instant strike out. I think it took MLB about 5 years to figure this out with Javy, but it still boggled my mind why it took that long.
  17. Was at this game, first of the season. Boyd looked pretty nasty and the bleachers were CRAZY for PCA all night. His homer was definitely the highlight. im not gonna complain about a sweep but it would be nice if the offense picked up again. Lucky us that the pitching has kept them afloat in a dry offensive spell. Love this team, etc.
  18. the only thing i hate about media people harping on the last coaching staff is that they messed up in the most obviously dumb and stupid way possible. like in a way that shouldn't be possible at the pro level. you couldn't write a piece of fiction where the #1 overall pick QB watches tape by himself without any guidance from the coaching staff. thats simply something thats unfathomable to have occurred. and yet. it did. nfl teams are corporations worth billions of dollars. things like this shouldn't happen. it shouldn't even be possible for this kind of incompetence to occur, and yet the last several years of...this planet... prove that incompetence is possible at every layer of society.
  19. If the offense continues how its been for the first 1/3 of the season this team is fine Plus very fun to watch. It's sooooo much more fun to watch a team that can hit than one that can't.
  20. Tim Anderson.... slappy hitter guys who don't do anything other than hit slappily never excited me. Glad the White Sox are being punished for their impudence to the Baseball Gods.
  21. Can someone who pays more attention to these things tell me how the White Sox went from being a normal type mid-level team to being a total and complete dumpster fire setting records of badness? It was only like 2-3 years ago that they were competing in the AL Central and the bottom has completely fallen off which doesn't seem to add up to me. I know Reinsdorf and La Russa are like, very dumb and very bad, but its a pretty dramatic collapse in a short period of time.
  22. How hard is it to find a replacement level third baseman? It seems like it should be a relatively doable task
  23. Legit didn’t know Verlander was still pitching
