  1. Huff was crushing everything coming out of Marquis' hands THat at bat wasn't going to end nicely.
  2. I hope this isn't a repeat of 2007 Cubs where we face a guy struggling with control and JUST HACK AWAY
  3. you fools, take pitches against this guy, he really sucks
  4. There are no smoke and mirrors here, Theriot is legitimately hitting the ball better than he ever has before.
  5. He's fine but I'd prefer if he not get more at bats than anyone else in the lineup.
  6. Anytime you want to take Patterson out of the lead off spot is cool with me
  7. Gallagher goes Friday. It's a good way to keep his innings number slightly down to move him back a couple days in certain situations like this. He's still very young. It's not great to have him throwing too many innings, and the Cubs may need him to stay in the rotation the rest of the year. I'm hoping those two can keep it rolling the next two days. They really have been pitching well in June. During the game, Pat said Demp fri, Gallagher Sat, Marshall Sun That looks like a bad series. Why? I feel confident in both Demp and Gallagher, and Marshall didn't even pitch that poorly yesterday. I'm fine with it.
  8. This Liz guy really sucks, and we all know the story on Marquis so this should be a shootout. GL Cubs
  9. I'm starting to think its more likely than not
  10. Oh crap why is Marquis pitching tomorrow? I thought it was Gallagher's turn, why are we skipping him for MARQUIS
  11. not realistic. if you're going to have a backup middle infielder, he's almost certain to be a lousy hitter. take a look around baseball and see how many teams have a solid hitter who can come off the bench and play shortstop. if the guy can hit and play SS/2B, he's already starting. this is the truth, as frustrating as it may be. the thing is we have enough freakin back up middle infielders, and we got a couple nice lefty back ups now so we can afford to throw fontenot out the door.
  12. I wish everyone would bear in mind that how many runners you get on is more indicative of how much scoring you do than how well you hit with runners on. It might helped if I were to repeat that. I wish everyone would bear in mind that how many runners you get on is more indicative of how much scoring you do than how well you hit with runners on.
  13. huh? Yeah, now i'm convinced you're a troll. Runners left on base notwithstanding, they've scored 7 runs and have had fairly decent pitching all game.
  14. Fontenot just needs to go and never come back Please god Lou, stop using him
  15. I know he's been hot, but Lee still isn't seeing the ball very well and swinging much too much out of the zone
  16. hahahahahha I honestly feel bad for Soto and Edmonds
  17. jesus fontenot why did you have to be so terrible RIGHT THERE
  18. And now its time for Fontenot to suck it up at the plate
  19. jesus that would have been nice for DeRo and for us
  20. Edmonds walking and nice bat speed on that homer earlier is encouraging
  21. Well, to be honest, I really don't see Lilly being #2 in the playoffs even if we didn't acquire another starter. I still see your point, though. I'm still holding out hope to end the season with a rotation of Zambrano, Sabathia, Hill, Dempster, Lilly. I don't have much, if any, faith that Rich Hill will figure out a damn thing this year. He's done for 2008, IMO. Don't take this away from me. Just substitute Marshall for Hill, he's a lefty too, has pretty much the same pitches and is younger!
  22. hahaha good for fresno state, gotta love the underdogs was pulling for UC-Irvine earlier, but they blew like a 6 run lead in the 9th to qualify for the CWS and broke my heart
