  1. beating the Seahawks in those hideous limegreen uniforms was also one of the few highlights from last year i hope we do it again heres an image a friend of mine made after that game in 2006 when Tillman really messed up coverage (the receiver dropped the ball anyway) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-ash1/v62/69/118/1949429/n1949429_34800795_9735.jpg
  2. the bears o-line situation is a complete comedy of errors. no where else in the league would Garza have a starting job locked down solid for like 6 years now, but maybe we've finally ousted him from his comfy spot by putting our supposed franchise LT at guard =D> honestly if this makeshift new-starter-every-week o-line can just buy my [expletive] team 3-4 seconds of protection we'll be fine, if Cutler doesn't start playing deers-in-the-headlights like he did all concussed in New York also don't run sweeps or even attempt to run the ball in short yardage situations
  3. I wouldn't complain about Boise, Oregon, OSU 1-2-3. Boise has the best resume so far, but I don't really have a problem with OSU first. I dunno about that, Boise's 'quality' win doesn't look any better than OSU's defeat of Miami and its a toss up between Oregon and OSU there (and i hate to go and look at last years scores but OSU did go to Pac10 territory and beat them soundly last year) btw theres an excellent article by Joe Posnanski about BCS and all that, and he's a great sports blogger in general: http://joeposnanski.blogspot.com/2010/10/death-to-bcs-eulogy.html
  4. Just as long it doesn't come down to Week 17 at Lambeau. I'm pretty sure there's no way we win that game if it's for the division. but...they've done that before, heck they clinched the division against the Packers at Lambeau with Grossman at QB in 2005!
  5. hey now pump the breaks we wont beat MSU Sure, it's an awful big if. i fondly remember watching Illinois - MSU my freshman year, very hungover, first year of the Zook era and we won on a last second FG, our first conference win in like 2 years
  6. hey now pump the breaks we wont beat MSU
  7. in that situation what do you gain by playing grossman? i think the correct move is to bench him there in the improbable circumstance he gives you negative points like that of course im not blaming you for starting him, who would have thought he'd have -7 points lol
  8. i will never ever feel pity for packers fans especially since they had one of the best, if not the best QB of all time and then when he left *TA-DA* their next QB in waiting is amazing too, how come you don't have to wallow in 20 years of horrible QB play like we have before you get another inevitable hall of famer
  9. I think preseason rankings are stupid and only by virtue of that does OSU have the number 1 spot, but I'm still curious to hear who you think should be #1, Oregon? I also think its stupid that Alabama dropped 7 spots after a loss like that.
  10. i get the feeling things just got completely out of control vs. New York. I have a sneaking suspicion that Cutler sustained the concussion much earlier than they let on...he just was too deers-in-the-headlights during that game, accepting sack after sack. This is in no way an endorsement of the offensive line play, but Cutler completely crumpled and couldn't handle his position after the first drive or so. its not like the run game did anything in that game either, what an abortion
  11. i'm really not that mad at Martz, he has to call a few pass plays and play action passes to keep them keyed off the run completely, its entirely on Collins to at the very least throw the ball out of bounds and not turn it over. i guess in a roundabout way its Martz's fault for not benching Collins earlier but the playcalling i didn't really have a problem with. Even the stupid toss/sweep plays we run a few times a game sort of worked this game, although i hope i never see them again.
  12. i remember that henry burris game and he wasn't throwing the ball anywhere near people. he was the worst bears qb of all-time. i like to think chad hutchinson is the worst because he went and had a 0.0 rating in a preseason game and then got benched for a rookie that was drafted in the 4th round
  13. best part of the bolded ones: we won those games, football rules
  14. i thought it was at seattle, my bad
  15. The playoffs are a good prospect. I think teams that start 3-0 have a 75% chance of getting in. The chances have to be a little better one you go 4-1. those are great numbers in a vacuum until you consider this is an actual living, breathing football team that we've seen play and we also know the schedule coming up! the team has been fun (at times) to watch and they have won some ridiculous games but they've basically played only one complete game so far (dallas). i like the o-line play after the changes, and hopefully cutler gets back to form when he comes back, other than that i almost feel like we should be dogs against seattle next week, or maybe like, even money or something. i can't shake the feeling that we'll never get all phases of the game playing well together, like once we get the passing/offense back together we'll lose someone important on defense to injury (briggs!?) and we'll be bad again in some phase of the game, that may be preposterous bears-fueled pessimism though
  16. I don't get it. Alex Gordon has been absolutely terrible in the majors and is now on the wrong side of 25 (27 on opening day). Why other than his draft status should the cubs even look at this guy? he was pretty good when he came back after being transitioned to the outfield, has all the talent in the world and sustainted some pretty unlucky injuries and bad managing I'd definitely start him over Overbay...Colvin eh i dunno maybe
  17. game at seattle is gonna mean a lot, hope cutler can play well again, the defense continues to impress and the run game continues to build on this success still think playoffs are a dim prospect
  18. not much left on the schedule is a cakewalk
  19. is there any way that collins deserves to be on an NFL roster after this game?
  20. this is uh, quite the game i'm getting horrible flashbacks to 2004 right now
  21. this is gonna be a really bad game
  22. perhaps their projection system has an algorithm that figures when a player of declining ability has a flukey breakout season at his age they tend to regress even worse the next season probably not though
  23. im gonna have to argue your point on the Jays. They had at least 20 homers from every position on the field, so Citoball rules. Of course they'll never make the playoffs in that division but watching them play is probably way more fun also they have 2 world series in my life time ( barely) so theres that
  24. did anyone watch the preseason game? Anyone wanna let me know how they looked? After the Bears game I'm starting to think its wise to buck up on some Bulls news
  25. 2 thoughts come to mind right here: one, continue picking against them two, why the hell did you pick detroit in week one?
