  1. No one likes Jon Heyman. BTW, I don't necessarily agree that the Cubs' handling of this bodes poorly for them, but really I would like any excuse to drop Silva from the roster. I think we may have squeezed whatever good baseball may have remained out of his rotund body.
  2. Dwight seems a little prettier than a guy like Shaq, if that makes sense. I imagine that has something to do with it. They're both bigger and stronger than everyone, but Shaq had mean streak and Dwight has a dirty streak. And reff's seem to be forced to call their games around Dwight like they used to for Shaq, which is to say, inconsistent and truly unfair to the other teams frontcourt. 8-) If Dwight ever develops an offensive game like Shaq's (and he's certainly added to it this year) he may surpass LeBron as best player in the league. And christ, I don't even want to imagine him on the Lakers, which the rumors seem to be pointing towards.
  3. That's probably not true either. You think 5 random posters could average even 40% from the line? when i say 5 'random' i mean the most annoying type of person that tries hard in YMCA leagues and stuff, the overhyper white guy that thinks he's good at basketball type i.e. definitely not me
  4. the only thing 5 random NSBB'ers could do is beat Shaq in a free throw contest
  5. Yeah count me in on the 'no' camp for the 18 game schedule, really bad wear and tear on the players enough already, the quality of football is definitely gonna drop a bit. A wild card team going all the way could conceivably play 22 games in a season, thats insane. And running backs already hit a wall the season after they carry 350+ times, how are we even gonna work around that, have 3 running back systems now? The NFL season will become even more a war of attrition.
  6. You know, I really like watching Dwight Howard play, and he seems like a mostly nice guy, and I really want to like him, but every time we play the Magic he does something horrible like body slam Derrick Rose, or throw an elbow at one of our guys and act like a petulant child and it makes me conflicted.
  7. Tommie :( =D>
  8. That image is so obnoxious we should all be protesting the Olympics
  9. I'm really curious to see how we play at Atlanta. We haven't played them yet all year, and I haven't seen them play yet all year.
  10. That leaves Harrison, Toeina, Melton and Tank Tyler (signed to a future's contract) as the only DTs on the roster. Tyler didn't play in 2010. Harrison was only active 5 games in 2010. Only leaves Urlacher and Briggs at LB, along with 2 future's guys I've never heard of. They needed an excuse to draft defense heavy. I wonder if they might re-sign Harris cheaper? It all but guarentees that they draft DT/DL twice, go OL twice, and use the rest to round out their defense. Sadly the Bears won't make much of an effort to work on the skill positions. They never have. This is a team that signed an over-the-hill Muhsin Muhammad that clearly had a twilight-of-his-career year season and thought they solved the wide out position. They just don't care.
  11. Not a single Bull was negative in +/- and not a single Wizard was positive in +/-, wonder how often that happens
  12. Seeing as we still likely will finish with the 3 seed, I'm fine with the Knicks figuring a way out of the 6 seed, and I'm more than fine with the Heat feeling less confident against 'good' teams.
  13. Am I wrong for thinking that plan 'B' of Boozer turned out a lot better than perhaps getting Bosh (who was plan A1, A2 or A3)? Bosh doesn't bring that post game at all, so its an added dimension that has helped tremendously. Now Boozer may age faster and his defense remains a problem, but still.
  14. Its not really encouraging we're going to continue to have a small Center, a smallish Guard in Garza, and a tackle playing Guard
  15. Is there any reason, from an organizational standpoint, to give him that many years? Honestly in a perfect world, if you were running a team you'd ideally keep him consistently coaching for a contract. He did a fine job. And he still as his faults on gameday. The problem remains Angelo.
  16. I, too, always liked Encarnacion, because he seemed always like a decent hitter that never got any love. Apparently he can barely field at third though.
  17. Whether or not its deserved (and it probably still isn't, IMO, but I'm slowly moving in that direction) Derrick Rose for MVP definitely picked up a lot of steam tonight. Not only did he go and beat the other contender, LeBron bricked that last shot, and the knuckleheads will latch on to that. I almost sympathize for LeBron in this instance, he goes and gives his wide open shooter a game winning opportunity? Lambasted. He goes and forces up a shot because thats whats expected of him? He's gonna be torn to shreds. I'm sure he's fine with hisself and his millions of dollars though of course
  18. That was such an ownage game, god damn. I haven't screamed that hard (on the Luol 3 ) since the 2008 playoffs. Asik played a helluva game too.
  19. my schadenfreude is sated for the time being, that is until they bring up some quad a starter and he gives them 185 innings of 3.6 era ball
  20. Indescribably bad loss that doesn't bode well with the back-to-back with the Heat
  21. Actually Bernstein and the rest of the Score agreed to not label what Duerson did as heroic (I think Dan thought the method was heroic but not the suicide, etc, he was more sympathetic than the others) and their whole attitude was very odd to me. I always get uncomfortable when people start talking about how 'selfish' people who commit suicide are, but my field is mental health so I'm used to people not grasping reasons for suicide or being particularly sympathetic.
  22. James Johnson was the kind of guy certain people latched on to and I never got it. Yeah he didn't get a fair chance here but he was a puzzling pick, especially how they decided from day one to not give him a chance. Glad we could salvage something out of it.
  23. Hell the Bulls might have issues signing Rose long term if a hard cap is instituted
  24. with these moves would they even have the cap space available to sign a CP3 or Deron Williams?
  25. As much as I love what Maynard has given this franchise, he's pretty much done. He had one of the worst average on punts last season, and while its nice that he's very good at angling and pinning teams back when we're in their territory, a team with an offense thats as boom-bust as ours really needs a guy that can boom it, because we stall so often in our own territory.
