  1. i would imagine if you're trading Schwarber/Soler in some combination you'd be aiming for pitching
  2. Kris Bryant, the fine young dongsman, on the road to 30

    Castro

I remember looking at Angel Pagan's numbers and they were even shockingly worse than Castro That Starlin has dragged his OPS into the .650s is a herculean effort
  4. *looks the lineup up and down* holy smokes, this is the best that's ever been crafted
  5. I think the short answer is that you want your guys to eventually be able to pitch for 7 months. So get them prepared by not stopping at 5. Shutting a guy down in August does not guarantee you anything about his health in the future. You also sold tickets to games and are obligated to try and win them. That's like rule #1 about professional sports. Ah yeah, thats a damn good point, you want a player that's stretched out enough to make a playoff run in the future. And the union unfair labor practice move is also well noted. I'm not saying teams are trying to *lose* specifically, just not risk their very best pitchers to suffer injury. Plenty of teams way out of it give starts to prospects and non-prospects just to see what they got in them, and they aren't *trying* to lose.
  6. Maybe I'm a crazy arch-conservative baseball mind, but if you're a team thats completely out of it, why wouldn't you shut down your young good starters? Like, if I'm the White Sox, I would have shut Chris Sale down like a month ago, because, who cares, and the dude already has mechanics that make people very nervous. Of course, I'm sure Sale and his agent would be pissed, but he's like my prize asset, so why have him out there playing for nothing other than his own stats. I'm looking forward to being thoroughly debunked by good info though.
  7. Seeing Soler turn back into a quality Dongsman has been really nice
  8. *checks Cubs score* Oh I guess I don't get to enjoy any sports today
  9. Jimmy Clausen is brutally bad at football
  10. Lol are we in for the CLAUSEN show? Tanking the 2015 season never had more appeal
  11. Ah. Wonderful.
  12. I want to hang out with Pedro Strop
  13. I'm not sure Mel "I gave up 50 points in consecutive weeks" Tucker has much to be happy about
  14. Carson Palmer has always been incredibly annoying against the Bears, even when he's on bum ass teams. Bears look like the better team so far but this is incredibly annoying
  15. If there was just a little more season left, I'd be more confident than anything that the Cubs could catch the Cardinals. Just so few games left.
  16. You're not allowed to lose this game. Figure something out.
  17. Zac Rosscup has rocketed into my top 5 most hated cubs now
  18. Good Christ stop hitting people, if only because I don't want cubs being hit in retaliation
  19. I'm grateful for the good innings he's given the Cubs so far, but I don't particularly want to see him in high leverage spots in the postseason On the other hand, Grimm, who has been a very effective fireman for most of the season has looked wobbly of late so who knows. Rondon and Strop are both phenomenal.
  20. This team is amazeballs good and I love them
  21. My phone app isn't showing any of the highlighted plays so I can't view these beautiful dongs :(
  22. I want Bryant to finish with 30 dongers so bad. Not because it's particularly meaningful but how beautiful would that rookie season look
  23. Alright Javy, serve us up some dongage
