  1. This defense is hilarious, they may as well not exist, Flacco gets whatever he wants
  2. The Bears are giving me the desire to die that the late Eberflus era gave me. I watch them and I crave the cold hands of death.
  3. Asked and answered!
  4. This *should* be an opportunity for the Bears to work clock, have a nice methodical drive for points, and then get the ball back after half. Let’s see how they horsefeathers it up
  5. I’m only able to hear the game on the radio but it sounds like Caleb is playing like horsefeathers again also don’t love how the kick off coverage is inexcusably bad
  6. Really don’t love hearing Swift is out, there’s a real dearth of NFL quality running backs on this team and I fear that’ll make the team move even further away from the run. bleh. Good luck boys
  7. I actually did completely give up watching the Bears between the Jay Cutler years and 2018 - those were years with literally zero hope. (I guess the John Fox years?)
  8. I just don't really think Caleb has regressed as such - at worst he's been static. There's one area he's made leaps and bounds improvement: avoiding sacks, where he's cut his sack rate in half. I just don't vibe with "I see no signs of hope" thing. If I felt that way I wouldn't watch the games, to be honest. And even if Caleb was playing markedly worse than he is now (which is absolutely subpar), I still wouldn't have zero hope. Maybe this is just a personality thing. I have hope because he's shown enough to me in the last year and a half and there's still plenty of time (we're still less than half of a season into Ben Johnson's career) and learning to go. I have faith in Ben Johnson's acumen. I don't feel the need to make any proclamation yet. I've said before and I'll say again, I'm not making any grand proclamation until after the season is over. And even if he's mediocre he probably still gets much of 2026 to play (and given how many late bloomers we're seeing now, why shouldn't he?). Why make any conclusion? I watched Caleb's All-22 and it is one of those things where if you watch his tape outside of the game flow it isn't bad at all - which is a huge dissonance with watching him play as the game is going. Watching him play within the context of the game, the offense (aside from the first two drives) felt anemic and scattershot, and then you watch him play outside of the narrative of a game and you're like "huh, this isn't that bad" and you can see how and why certain plays didn't work out. But of course, within the flow of the game, it may have been disastrous. I can see why Ben Johnson was softer on Caleb, just looking at his tape abstracted from the game. I dunno, maybe I'm deluded and just a "hope springs eternal" kinda person. I absolutely overstayed the welcome on Justin Fields way until the end of 2023.
  9. Everyone is a little too traumatized from 2024. It's ok folks, Eberflus isn't here to hurt us anymore. That being said, I'm more terrified of Jake Browning than Joe Flacco. The worse a QB is, the lower on the depth chart they are, the more I am convinced they are going to tear us apart. It's Cubs-vs-bad-rookies-they've-never-seen-before syndrome. Win the game, show some improvement from Caleb. But guess what, even if they lose, the world isn't over. Just go out there and have some fun folks.
  10. Yeah it’s unfortunately a “beggars can’t be choosers” situation in the defensive backfield. We just need bodies. but it won’t help our campaign against penalties
  11. Sunday was insanely disappointing and borderline unacceptable but I feel like sometimes people miss the fact that the Bears are, you know, a winning team (as of right now) I go crazy on Sundays and lose my mind but it’s good to remember that this team is not like, terrible. Maybe when we look back at the end of the season it will be, but it isn’t right now! Let’s not just assume they’re going to repeat the 10 game losing streak last year. They win the next game, and they’re right back on track. The sky isn’t falling dudes,
  12. Shohei Ohtani reached base 9 times in one game? thats horsefeathers crazy dudes we haven't seen horsefeathers like that since Barry Bonds in '04
  13. The Poles extension may end up being the most consequential thing out of all of this. He’s had 4 offseasons to put together this team, drafts, free agency, trades, and the talent is simply deficient. There simply aren’t enough good, above average or star level players on this team.
  14. I think these QB School Youtube Guys make their living simply telling fans what they want to hear about QB prospects. No need to polish a turd, Caleb was bad.
  15. Caleb is definitely ultra-focusing on Odunze as a safety blanket and it’s hurting him and the passing game. I hope they can coach him up to not hyper focus on just the one guy and god, hopefully spread it around a bit more when it’s a high pressure moment or scramble drill time.
  16. Starting Bagent for ??? Reasons is having no standards. It accomplishes nothing. He has no shot at all at being a starting quarterback in the league so it serves no purpose. You start Williams in the hopes that he actually can be a franchise QB. It’s the prerequisite to having a championship quality team. If he isn’t, that’s too bad, but it’s the only thing that matters. Any stopgap is just wasting time.
  17. I see no need to sugarcoat it: Caleb was brutal. He was bad last week and he was even worse this week. Something is just not clicking. Is it possible he’s just bad? Of course! But I’ll repeat my mantra: he has this job throughout the end of the season unless he hits Justin-Field-week-6-literally-cannot-complete-a-pass-bad. Anyone calling for Bagent has completely lost the plot. This season is not selling out all the breaks in order to squeak in a 9-8 record and possibly, maybe, slide into the playoffs. If that’s what you want, you’ll never see a championship and the best you can hope for are one-off seasons like 2001 and 2018z This was primarily a season to both evaluate what you have with Caleb and to coach him up. He’s moving backwards. It’s time for Ben Johnson to coach him up. Nobody is getting benched, nor should they. (Again, unless he is so bad he puts up negative passing yardage)
  18. Officials didn’t help but this was overwhelmingly a loss at the feet of the offense. If they execute at all, they still win easily.
  19. Why would I bench Caleb? The whole purpose of the season is to see what you have with him and teach him. If he’s bad he’s bad, but you have to ascertain that.
  20. It feels like Eberflus rose from the dead and possessed this team. What the horsefeathers
  21. You just gave up 30 points to the Lamarless Ravens. Humiliating lol
  22. I’m moderately angry at the defense but mostly angry at the offense for doing absolutely nothing
