Even in some hypothetical reality where Heyward gets to that ball, he likely has to dive, get up, and then get an accurate throw to home to keep the runner on 3rd from scoring. It's far from certain we stop the run from scoring. I also can't expect any player to complete an inside the park home run on a relatively shallow ball hit down the line that's misplayed. It just...is a completely and totally uncommon, difficult play. I don't think we had a single inside the parker this year.

yeah i can't really blame Soler for not getting an inside the park home run on what looked like a foul ball off the bat. He doesn't have the best wheels anyway and that would have been an absurd play, though I was rooting for it We just didn't get enough balls to drop today. We can get mad about this or that play but we got what, 2 hits off Tomlin? It's kind of unacceptable. And I'm surprised Montero absolutely cranking a line drive right at a dude isn't getting more attention. That would have been the lead right there.
