  1. Ok, please end All the stupid Schwarber fears Sigh
  2. Can you give Lester the horsefeathering corner you horsefeathers?
  3. Kluber is pitching well AND this ump is really doing an awful job
  4. its totally bizarre seeing smart baseball people like Joe Sheehan and Dave Cameron shout themselves apoplectic over the Schwarber-Coghlan-Heyward moves. like at the end of the day, its just isn't that big of a deal, and they're acting like these are huge risks the Cubs are taking. Ok.
  5. I'm almost upset his first at bat wont occur at home, because I just want to see how Wrigley would react to a Schwarber pinch hit appearance
  6. The fix for fans treating players shitty isn't to go and treat some other players shitty, its to stop treating some players shitty I'm sure no one feels worse than Heyward for how he's played this year than Heyward. And he's clearly tried his best throughout the year to play at the highest level he can. Making him feel bad for that is cruel and unusual.
  7. At home with their best pitcher, this is probably their most favorable match up
  8. Rajai Davis leading off for a World Series team makes me laugh and laugh those scrubs are in for a dongin'
  9. Coghlan has been an overall decent player for the Cubs, and he's been signifcantly better than Heyward has in the last few months, so I don't know why Cameron is getting so pouty about it
  10. Well he wasn't wrong about him starting as a DH, he was just wrong where he was in the batting order. Which is up to Maddon completely so he may have just changed his mind.
  11. Coghlan instead of either Contreras or Heyward is a tad bit surprising. The more I hate on Coghlan the better he does though, so I expect him to go 3-5
  12. Schwarber being on the roster is like the definition of fun and a cinderalla story. Odds are he doesn't do anything special during the World Series because the odds are against any player doing anything special. But it feels so good because this dude was so good last year and had to tough out a rough injury almost the entire year. And he gets to come back! That never happens! Hating it is like, totally alien to me
  13. i actually think the indians are a bunch of unimpressive scrubs and we're going to knock them around like a pinata
  14. okay we will be sure to stop being excited thanks for reminder Classy as always. you're the one thats trying to dump a bucket of water all over the thread, dude
  15. Dave Cameron has hated Schwarber for a long time. He thinks his ceiling is a Mike Napoli type player, which both underestimates Schwarber offensively AND defensively
  16. It probably doesn't give us the advantage because at home the Indians have no way of playing Mike Napoli and Carlos Santana at the same time, who are their best hitters Re: Schwarber and Contreras, for the Hendricks start at least, you get *both* of those mean bats in the lineup, and suffer no defensive disadvantage. Also, handedness.
  17. It's crazy how excited I am about this. Schwarber only has 21 career MLB home runs, and yet I'm confident he's going to add to his Cubs career postseason record. He was my favorite player last year, just a pure joy to watch, and that swing is *kisses fingers* violent and sweet at the same time. I guess I have to buy my second shirsey of all time.
  18. i'm really tired of commentators talking AGAIN about how the cubs should trade schwarber because he's an "AL player" i demand he dong the indians to death
  19. maybe i'm too foolish but the fact that there isn't a Kershaw or Hill in this rotation makes me supremely confident we're just gonna stomp on them offensively Like, after Bumgarner, Cueto, Kershaw etc..etc their Good And Above Average rotation just seems like peanuts to me. which means every game will be 2-1
  20. The Cubs are going to win because the Cubs...seem so much better than the Indians? I guess its possible we could lose but the Indians just seem like a blah team with a lot of good but not great players, and the Cubs are loaded and have transcended into baseball godhood. This just feels like a short series a la the Boston 2004 run when the World Series was an afterthought. We have vanquished all before us. Now for the coronation.
