The White Sox making this grand proclamation that they wont trade with the Cubs so epitomizes why that organization is totally adrift, mediocre and myopic. Yes, make some empty gesture that ends up spiting yourself more than anybody else because you're terrified of helping the better organization that shares the city with you. God damn its stupid.

I really wont believe the White Sox will trade Sale until they do, despite the fact they should have traded him basically at any point in the past few years. I look forward to them trying to reload again and winning 78 games like they always do.

I think Jim Hendry did a bad job and wasn't and will never be a very good executive, but it does give me some warm fuzzies to know he was given credit for getting some of the talent (some very meaningful talent) that led to the World Series.

Basically the only thing this season missed was a full season of Schwarber hitting fat dongers the whole time, and he even got a little cameo appearance on the biggest stage. Maybe up to #1 on my list of things to look forward to next season is a full season of Schwarbs. I feel completely convinced in a full season he hits 40 fat dongers -
On top of him still likely being really good if he loses 1-3 MPH on his FB his slider/cutter (whatever you want to call his breaking pitch) has shown flashes of being pretty damn good. Once he starts losing velo I'd imagine he'd incorporate and work on that pitch a little more. What he *could* have been seems like even better than what he was (an extremely valuable relief pitcher) But maybe I'm being really silly, and I shouldn't second guess the pitcher and pitching coaches in question. It just totally baffles me he opts to be a 1.5 pitch pitcher instead of using a repertoire that could make him borderline unhittable. But there's obviously more to it than that. I hope we re-sign Dex but wont be crushed if we can't. I feel like its likely Rondon will bounce back, but another stud closer/reliever is definitely on the way.

Yeah he was really bad the last two games. Its a good thing we have team full of Golden Adonises that overcame it, to be honest. Something to be said that his managing of people over the course of the past two seasons has a part to play in them playing successfully. But his in-game tactical decisions were puzzling.

As up and down the season was for him, he still got a No Hitter and pitched very effectively in the World Series. Good Stuff.

I really like how people are making a big deal out of the pep talk he gave the rest of the team and then he....goes and has probably the worst at bat he's had all season. I guess it worked for the other guys! Maybe he's a magical talisman and he gave the Cubs good juju all season, but well, whatever. Tough season for the guy, he made more than a few great plays in the World Series to rob hits, he deserves the ring for never hanging his head at any moment. -
It was nice of him to bring his pet pitching buddy Lester too I was the kind of horsefeathers that rooted for him to retire after last season, and was angry he was still on the roster. Then, Montero gets hurt, Ross is pushed into a virtual starting job for a few weeks, hits the snot off the ball, makes amazing plays in the field, and catches a no-hitter. Then he entered all of our hearts.

I'm so happy for him I'm pretty much happy for everyone on this entire team (sans Chapman), they're all great, they've all worked their butts off, but no one worked 6 months to the bone like Schwarber did, incredible

I can't believe how according to plan this whole franchise has gone since 2012. They acquired a bunch of great talent, almost all of it were hits, they made a perennial playoff winner, and then just won it in their second spin of the wheel. Theo and Jed are just flipping birds at the baseball gods and the odds combined. They beat it.

Maybe even more poignantly, they didn't even notice. I think it was more a case of shame on us for thinking that we were going to just cruise to a 5-1 W. The Indians were such a fierce [expletive] opponent. Was this the greatest World Series of all time? There were some blow outs in there, but the dramatic games...were quite dramatic

I'm not sure it bears mentioning when we're all so happy and so many great things happened, but boy did Joe manage a poor game It's a good thing Theo and Jed stocked this team up with so much ludicrous talent that it didn't matter, eh

It took probably the best game 7 of all time in maybe the best world series of all time and the Cubs did it what an incredible journey. this season has been so much fun. i still dont really believe this.

IM totally numb We had this game won several times over and Joe made puzzling move after puzzling move and the deal with the devil we made with Chapman finally blew up in our faces This is torture

It's really weird to be in this position because I anticipated a tragic ending in the playoffs sometime well before now and it still doesn't feel real. It's just feel too cinderella-esque. Where is that second shoe dropping? Can this really happen? I felt like I'd have to suffer through numerous playoff letdowns over years before something like this happened. But its happening right now. Just win it.
