  1. This is driving me nuts man, just complete a pass
  2. This would be a terrible game to blow in the second half - we so totally dominated them in the run game. Should be up another TD at minimum.
  3. Dear lord the passing game looks totally broken. If Caleb is on target a guy falls over
  4. I DONT like surrendering this possession like this uhhhh ok maybe nevermind
  5. I’m not putting the inaccuracy fully on Caleb - you can see Hurts is similarly off target - the conditions are a mess (or maybe they’re both broken lol)
  6. Just stick with the run man. The conditions are poor for passing and Caleb is just a little off.
  7. I said this a couple years ago: Dan Campbell’s high emotion style of coaching, extreme aggressiveness, that horsefeathers can work in the short term but eventually it burns itself out. You shoot your self in the foot and the team may start to tune you out. Hoping this is the case this year. now, unfortunately nothing stops Packers Magic. We haven’t found a solution to that yet, we’re looking in the lab right now
  8. Not loving the idea of facing down the Packers twice in three weeks right now
  9. It’s a hard call. On the one hand, the Lions losing puts them two back of the division lead, and may basically knock them out of contention for the North. But a Packers win keeps them only to half a game back of the Bears with two cracks at us. I think I’m rooting for the Lions and if we gotta make week 18 a virtual NFC North Championship, you may as well do it at home
  10. If the Bears can avoid just getting run on, this will be a competitive and close game. Obviously the Eagles' rushing attack isn't what it once was, but neither was the Steelers and they were gashing us for 7 and 8 yard gains on obvious running downs with this back up linebacking core. If we can just keep the Eagles from running wild in the run game, which is something they are capable of, if not consistent at doing, we got ourselves a game.
  11. I get an insane amount of schadenfreude following Bryce Young. The dude looks so adamantly not like an NFL starting QB and somehow we convinced the Panthers to trade us like 2 full years of draft picks and DJ Moore to draft this guy. you watch him play and you’re like “huh, well, for a 5th round pick who shouldn’t be pushed into a starting role, he isn’t that bad” and then you remember he was the first overall pick. Insanely bad. Inexcusably bad. You can tell just by looking at him next to professional football players he isn’t a pro. it makes me so happy
  12. This is a game where I really just want to see the Bears play up to their opponents, and look good out there. Worst case scenario is a repeat of the Lions game where a very talented, proven team lets out its frustrations on us. And with how depleted our defense is, it’s not unthinkable. a win would be awesome. It would definitely stamp the Bears as a serious, non-fraudulent team. But I’ll take looking good, even in a loss.
  13. Funny that immediately after I made my “should the Bears just semi-forfeit the Eagles game” the Eagles go and lay and egg. It’s the NFL, no game is guaranteed. i do think though that if the Bears are serious about playoffs, that Browns game at home has to be a gimme (obviously). Yes Myles Garrett is a hall of famer having a fantastic year, but you gotta take care of business against that team at home on a playoff run. They aren’t pushovers, but they are easily the worst team remaining on the schedule.
  14. Not even sure what to root for in this game. Do we want an Eagles loss? That could backfire if that fires them up. I suppose we want to see them exhausted and injured.
  15. I think the Fail Mary has given Stephenson an unnecessarily harsh reputation. He's a good player, and he's a significantly better cover corner than Nahshon Wright. Wright has come up with some incredible interceptions but pound for pound, its not close on who's a better corner
  16. I don't love that this was the 4th week in a row that Caleb had a <60% completion percentage. His accuracy was off all game, and he made perhaps the worst play of his season on the fumble - just a completely unnecessary blunder which showed a complete lack of awareness of the play and game state. You don't need to hold onto the ball for 7 seconds backed up in your own end zone, and you definitely want to do that in a tied game. He avoided anything of the same scale for the rest of the game, but it's something that loses games. You can't do that. I still think Caleb's That Dude, and I still think he's making progress, but I want to see more of it cleaned up. There were 4-5 throws (minimum) where he completely missed a dude that was wide open. You're not gonna make every open throw. But you gotta minimize these. You can't keep missing 15-20 yard plays. You'll lose games against better teams.
  17. If it were possible to simply take a forfeit instead of playing as a super banged up team on the road against the best team in the league, would it make sense for the Bears to do that? Get a legitimate 2 weeks off, get Jaylon and Kyler back, give everyone a rest, etc. No football team would ever do that of course, but I do wonder if it would be the "smart" thing to do. Maybe not, given how few games a team gets to play in a year and how, even with a low probability of success a win goes a loooong way to securing a playoff spot, but still. It makes one think.
  18. The Giants could easily be in the NFC playoff hunt if they weren't getting Matt Eberflusian results down the stretch. Are we sure he isn't involved with the team somehow? Brought in as a consultant maybe?
  19. Packers week is gonna be crazy
  20. One of the reasons why this one was especially tough: The running game was not working. Since the Bye they've run the ball super effectively, today they were 25 attempts for 99 yards but 21 of those were on Caleb scrambles and 15 on an end around. Swift was terrible. Though I don't hold the "fumble" against him. (bizarre officiating, that play shoudl have been blown dead like 4 seconds earlier). Run blocking in general wasn't where you want it.
  21. He's unplayable. They're going to have to let him play out the stretch but he currently does not appear to be an NFL player.
  22. damn, i hadn't checked teh score in a while and thought the Giants had the Lions but it looks like they're boned in OT right now That would have been a reallllllly nice one for us, what with the Vikings completely rolling over and letting the Packers keep pace
  23. Listen, the Eagles are gonna average 12 yards a carry against us and we’re likely gonna get shithoused but let me say this: this team is fun as hell and tough as hell. All credit to Ben Johnson for putting a team like this out there. (Never take a delay of game like that ever ever again dude)
  24. Thank god Mason Rudolph turned back into Mason Rudolph for a couple plays
