  1. Not even terribly mad at the defense. We have a stop and a pick already. Offense can’t suck so bad, Caleb can’t be this bad. angry at Ben Johnson for not running more early
  2. Its completely insane that they tried playing Jayden Daniels while 3-9 and dead in the water and he's coming off an injury. Just shut him down for the rest of a lost season. Unforgivable.
  3. What a season from hell of this dude. Starts off red hot, leads the consensus best team of the first half of the season, then starts slowing down, breaks his leg, tries to play through, and now it looks like he tore his Achilles AND the Colts are collapsing perhaps out of the playoffs entirely. its Bears-esque
  4. I'm not worried about our offense really. I think we'll be able to move the ball and score points. I'm more worried about our defense, which, even when healthy, cannot generate any consistent pressure and has had issues on and off all season stopping the run. They had their best overall game last week, but I'm concerned. And we may rag on him and find him baffling, but Jordan Love has the 3rd best QBR in the league. He's, annoying and infuriatingly, a very good QB.
  5. Yeah its certainly not rational but I feel the same way raw does about this game - we've won 9 of 10, been the beneficiary of some very favorable luck AND we just beat the defending champs like a drum in a game almost no one but Bears fans expected... for some reason it just feels hard to expect the Bears to keep going. That may be some learned helplessness and trauma against the Packers on my part, but its just how I feel. Funny thing that as much as we've been "lucky" with some things, we have by far the worst Penalty Yardage differential in the league (Bears have been penalized 287 yards more than their opponents, which is 62 yards worse than the next on the list, Denver) and there is no part of me that thinks thats entirely the Bears "fault". I hate it, and I want it to stop.
  6. It brings me no pleasure to say DJ hasn’t been their best receiver for two years now Being short Odunze hurts, but they still have a lot of weapons on offense. Rome’s importance as Calebs security blanket has lessened in the last 6-7 weeks as Loveland and Burden have emerged more. But he’s still our best receiver.
  7. Here's one thing I find annoying and baffling and I just want to make sure I'm not insane and the only one seeing this: Does it not seem like Jordan Love throws the most amount of just prayer balls up in the air, balls that look like pop flies, that always end up in his receivers hands? I know he's not just lucky, because he keeps doing it, and he never gets picked off, but when I do watch the Packers or see highlights, I see passes that when they leave his hand I'm like "that is gonna be picked off" and no, it's a 50 yard completion on 4th down. This is probably a version of Cardinals Pixie Dust in my ruined, biased brain, but good lord man. Some of those 4th down completions against the Lions were just like, what? That shouldn't be complete! horsefeathers you!
  8. Yeah a loss is pretty devastating for the Packers. Then they have to win at Soldier Field AND pick up a game on us, which is doable! But it’s a much, much more difficult position for them than the Bears if the Bears lose.
  9. Good for nothing Cowboys. The only time in my life I root for you, never again!!
  10. Here's what I'll say about Caleb and the passing game: the receivers are getting open and Caleb is finding them. He's not always hitting them with accurate passes, and they aren't always coming down with the ball, but the scheme is working, the guys are getting open, and Caleb isn't holding onto the ball too long (not anymore, anyway) or misreading the defenses. He just isn't always delivering an accurate ball, and/or the guys are falling down or dropping the pass. This is a huge, marked improvement from the last few guys we've had both at OC and at QB. We'd have just complete and total dysfunction. Mitch and Justin couldn't operate the offense at all, our OCs were simpletons, morons or overly ambitious and rigid. None of it worked in any consistent way. They're very close to just being an insane offense. They're already a good offense. Which is crazy for being less than a year together.
  11. I’d much prefer the Lions bring more or less knocked out of playoff contention
  12. Meaningful, yes, not “if you win you stay at the #1 seed, if you lose you drop to the #7 or out of the playoffs completely” level, woof!
  13. I hate how much is riding on this game. Can’t we have a low stress, not a game that flips our chances of the playoffs like 30% one way or the other on a win or loss? just fast forward to the Browns game please
  14. Football alliance ENDED with the Philadelphia Eagles, now DALLAS COWBOYS are my best friend
  15. I found the Super Bowl Shuffle doc one of the most pleasant completely-unnecessary-low-stakes-but-why-not kind of documentary you can have. It's really an excuse to just revel in some nostalgia about the era, and there's nothing wrong with that.
  16. Remember when Rex got drunk on New Year’s Eve and was terrible in a meaningless game against the Packers in 06? I wish we had more memories like that than…the other ones
  17. I think Jahmyr Gibbs behind this line and with this scheme would have like 1,600 yards right now
  18. I miss Dan McNeil (DAH MAHNEIIILLLL) and him and Spiegel was a perfect pairing. I find the 670 lineup these days very bland. But I've mostly enjoyed Bernstein + Matt Abbattacola. Maybe I just long for the old glory days of B&B.
  19. Huh. Ok.
  20. I was 5 years old when the Packers acquired Brett Favre so all I've known is complete and total Packers domination, with only a handful of breaks. I'm not sure I've even seen the Bears sweep the season series before. Fake Edit: Huh, they swept the series in 2007? That year was so disappointing and forgettable I didn't even remember that. But I do remember 2005, Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman teaming up to sweep em. I just looked those box scores up and Kyle Orton was 6 of 17 in one of those wins, lmao. What an era.
  21. 100%. I wish Montez was a guy who elevated the guys around him, but he's simply a Very Very Good D-End, but not an elite guy. He's good for a sack a game, a game-changing play every few games, but he isn't a monster that can totally take over a game like Garrett or Crosby can do on occasion. They gotta get another difference maker on the D-Line, and I'm right there with you: Depending on the cost, I'm not opposed to making a big move for a guy like Maxx Crosby next year. That can elevate this team to championship potential, assuming even modest improvement from Caleb and the offense. I wish there were more D-Tackles out there that can really impact the pass rush, but there's a reason why guys like Aaron Donald aren't routinely available. Real unicorn type dudes. Not a lot of them around the league.
  22. I don’t think the Lions are an elite team that can compete for a Super Bowl this year. Not with the injuries they've sustained and the… weird coaching decisions they are seemingly committed to. Fully look forward to being quote tweeted in a couple months with how wrong I am, but I don’t see it for them.
  23. I’m not hedging about the goodness of the Bears anymore. They’re one of the best of the NFC, and even if they lose (against another one of the top NFC teams) it won’t change my feelings about them. Jordan love is, unfortunately, pretty good. And Green Bay, annoyingly, is pretty good. Of course our road to the playoffs has to go through them in what almost looks like a baseball style series. But we only really need a split with them. It’s too bad this first one is in Lambeau. I’m still waiting for Green Bay to experience 30 years of football incompetence and lacking a QB. It’s only fair.
  24. They’re 9-3 and just utterly dominated the defending Super Bowl champs on the road. They’re a good team!
