  1. And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat upon him was Hendricks, and Hell followed with him.
  2. of all the Cardinals players I probably hate Matt Carpenter the most. He combines this overeager "try-hard" attitude that I hate + he has this ugly face that I also hate
  3. Evidence that strikeouts don't mean a whole lot at all for hitters: Cubs pitchers: 1 K Cardinals pitchers: 11 Ks Cubs up 4 runs
  4. Hahah, I don't mind that. It could have gotten us another run
  5. This Gallegos guy seems really good too bad they're wasting him in a sure loss (my cockiness will come back to haunt me)
  6. Line outs are only acceptable if the opposing team commits them
  7. It will, but what can you do, revel in the good times my comrade
  8. YESSSSSS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS I LOVE IT. FEED ME CARDINAL TEARS
  9. Lineouts by the Cubs are illegal. Those two outs should be returned to us and recorded as singles, thank you
  10. Hendricks is hulking out. This is 2016 NLCS style baby
  11. Maples ain’t but I’m buying low on the other guys I bought low on Heyward 2 years ago. That, uh, didn’t exactly work out. Nothing to do but hold on and hope. Three years of bad seasons, but each season he improved on it. Now he's got a very different batting profile (a 17% swing in direction of where the ball is going) so we'll see what happens. Chatwood.....we'll see. Its almost impossible for him to duplicate how bad his control was last year, its huge to ask him to cut his walks in half, but he's already cut his BB/9 by 2. This is unfortunately accompanied by a decline in his strikeout percentage. We shall see. He's only thrown 14+ innings.
  12. Rizzo is gonna finish the day with a .900 OPS, he's determined
  13. Maples ain’t but I’m buying low on the other guys
  14. It is pretty amazing what a turnaround this has been from the first 10 games. This looks like a very solid team, though concerns around the pitching will continue for me based on age, no matter what. The hitting is legit though. Even if Heyward and Contreras slow down, I expect a bit more of a boost from Bryant, Rizzo (who has shockingly pulled his OPS into the mid 800s again) and, yes, Schwarber.
  15. One of these things is not like the others. Alfonso Soriano was a very good player; he had one of the worst approaches at the plate I’ve ever seen by a player as good as he was.
  16. Albert Almora might have the worst approach of any player I’ve ever seen And I used to watch Alfonso Soriano and Neifi Perez
  17. I recognize that every time we acknowledge Heyward is getting good he gets bad again (he’s Schroedinger’s Batsmen) but I went to FanGraphs to see what the big difference was. Interestingly a lot of things have stayed stable. His Soft/med/Hard hit percentages are very close to previous years, though his soft % is down 5% and his medium is up 5%, but that’s really not much change. The only thing I can see that’s dramatically different is this: He’s hitting the ball up the middle FAR more, and pulling FAR less. It appears to be having a ton more success for him.
  18. I’m not used to watching an opponent melt down like this. Typically if a meltdown like this occurs the Cubs pitching staff is the one doing it.
