  1. As a person who routinely doesn’t pay enough attention to what’s going on, I thought Kimbrel was coming off an injury and that’s why he hadn’t signed a deal until now. It never ever occurred to me that he could be fully healthy and not find a deal with anyone more than two months into the season. It doesn’t speak highly of the labor compact in MLB if a top of the line player at his position can’t get a deal made until June because of the teams stonewalling him and the whole draft pick thing.
  2. The David Bote Game, No Not The Grand Slam One, The Other One
  3. This cubs bullpen is...not very good right now
  4. Zobrist's piddly 9 million dollars is stopping us from making baseball moves? Seriously the Ricketts can go horsefeathers themselves
  5. hmmm its ok to pull Lester now and just get the win ok
  6. I feel like complaining that we couldn’t hit a barn door last series against our hated rivals but I’ll take any sign of life
  7. This is the situation: We could probably find a decent defensive catcher who would probably struggle to put up a .700 OPS Putting Contreras in LF denies you a good bat at Catcher, but we may not have anyone else that can put up .800+ OPS in the OF anyway. Is the difference in value made up there? Ideally you have *two* people who can put up an .850 OPS in both positions. I tend to think you keep him there and do your best to find a good bat for the outfield. I don't think his receiving is disastrous or really the main cause of struggles in our pitching staff, but I don't know how to read the numbers nor how dependable they are.
  8. dont worry, theo is already working on new urgency slogans for next march 6th in the majors in wRC, 4th in wOBA, 3rd in OBP. I can't even imagine the outrage among the other 83% of the league that has been worse than us this year. i'm not falling for these so called 'numbers' you warlock
  9. Is there nothing to do about this trash offense? It’s unacceptably bad.
  10. The Cubs have reclaimed the title of “bad” congratulations everybody, it was a lot of work to get bad again but you did it
  11. When was the last time this team got a non-HR RBI hit? Did they even get one in the Astros series?
  12. Honestly, you can’t go 10 innings and score 1 run and expect to win. I don’t even blame the bullpen there. Just pitiful offensive effort
  13. HAhahahha ball 1 at Carpenter is a clear strike This almost seems rigged
  14. Dillon Maples sure does hate to throw strikes doesn’t he
  15. Good lord it can’t be that hard to score a run you guys
  16. Frustrating to only be tied while keeping them to one hit
  17. I had Lou's yesterday, but after trying Pequods for the first time, there is nothing better Pequods is the best pizza in the city, period
