  1. Regarding Fields, I will continue to do the thing every homer fan does - choose to pay attention only to the positive signs and eye-popping plays, and ignore anything concerning.
  2. Expecting a heartbreaker, hoping for a win
  3. I'm not sure it did... did you see Santos' two XP attempts? Yeah fair point, the 47 yard try is far from guaranteed
  4. What a nice fun win to open the season. The first half was misery, of course. It felt again like "oh god....here we go again, it's the Bears and they're gonna just play like the Bears again" and what a nice surprise in the second half. Of course you the weather was a huge factor, as were the numerous penalties. We got a few to really break our way, although the one bizarre, never-before-in-my-watching-of-the-NFL penalty hit the Bears and cost us 3 points. But still, previous Bears teams have had things break their way in a similar fashion against good teams and still collapsed. This one didn't. It's a shame that our next game is against the fuckin Packers at Lambeau, but well, they looked terrible yesterday. So there's that. I'm just happy to see some real gumption from this team, so continue to play hard and protect Fields and don't be an embarrassment.
  5. Extremely into the pitch clock - not into the restrictions of the shift. Seems like there's still leeway to move infielders around a bit, but you can't do extreme shifts like they once did. I just like as much strategy involved in what teams can do - rewards skill and understanding. Oh well. It's also not fun to have offense so weak. I hate having a .700 OPS be a 100 OPS+
  6. Man, that article makes me feel so bad for Trubisky. Not that I think Trubisky had what it took to be a star QB in the NFL, but he sure was trying hard and left out to dry.
  7. Lmao, I love what this team is doing in the red zone
  8. Oh for gods sake Poor Justin, not a fun rookie season for this guy. Only thing we can do is hope the next administration is competent and can run a good offense
  9. I can't put into words how much I hate the idea of expanding playoffs from 10 to 14 teams Don't make the regular season as meaningless as the NBA regular season please
  10. If Fields starts I'm marginally interested in a game where he's not going to just face one of the best teams in the league and get murdered If not then whatever
  11. RIP to a legend. People disparaged his announcing near the end of his career but I always enjoyed him. Weird that his biggest legacy will be tied to a series of video games he did very little to contribute to (other than his name, which was a huge help in early years I'm sure)
  12. Thankfully I don’t think anything in the next two weeks will save him his job But I’ve been wrong before
  13. lol that was cool honestly
  14. As bad as the Bears are and how much they are the architects of their own failure, it’s kind of not fair that the refs call two different kinds of games for the Bears and opposing teams. We simply don’t get the same calls other teams do, and it’s also ok to abuse our quarterbacks. Not fun.
  15. Kirk Cousins had 87 yards passing and his team won lmao
  16. I missed the whole first half but its pretty wild to see the Bears down with Fields completing 10/12 passing Shocked their in the game given everything, may turn it on
  17. I don't get angry at people who jump on crypto or NFTs in a really awkward bandwagony way because its mostly just gonna look really funny in like 5 years
  18. Uhh, I’m not sure this team will be able to field a full roster for Monday. When was the last time a team had to forfeit a game?
  19. I'm half convinced the Packers let the Bears take leads just to make it feel worse at the end, but its still nice to see some good plays from Fields
  20. I just want to see the Bears have an above average offense for two years in a row. This is something I'm not sure they've accomplished in my lifetime.
  21. Plus 5 more after this, 5 more games of Dalton throwing, regardless of Kmet' health status, to Graham, 5 more games of Nagy stunting the development of younger players because he thinks he's got a better chance to win by going with trusted veterans. It's really depressing, January 10, 2022 cannot come soon enough. Is it confirmed that Fields is out for the year? If there’s still a chance he can start again before the end of the year, there’s still some reason to keep watching…
  22. Goodbye buddy, I'm glad he's getting paid
  23. The playoff system is perfect and elegant and if its changed it would be to the detriment of the entire sport, so of course it'll expand to 18 teams or whatever. Changing FA rules to age rather than service time is better but setting the age at 29 is horrible given the vast vast vast majority of players earn almost all their value before that age. It should be like, 25. But! So it goes.
  24. God. I feel absolutely no desire to watch this game, whether or not Justin Fields plays. If he doesn't play: no reason to watch, if he does play: oh watch Justin get fed into a woodchipper. This team is so damn grim.
  25. I bet Nagy continues coaching throughout the end of this exceptionally wretched season, gets fired, and Pace stays another year
