  1. lol I remember that show. I used to think those girls were hot when I was like 10. Only WGN can make Scrubs look not funny.
  2. Nope...must just be your tv. Give it a good whack. I told you it would work.
  3. Argh. Underwater Len just got better. I just imagined Len saying "OUTTA HERE!" but it only came out as "glurglglurglglurgl!" Freaking murlocs.

  5. Lots of pickoff attempts this year so far it seems.
  6. I wish Soriano didn't completely suck at the plate this year.
  7. No, but any thread that gets bumped for the sole purpose of saying, "I told you so!" and then more people piling on has a great chance of being locked. The "Wood will be the greatest closer ever" thread was started Thursday had a number of posts Friday, Saturday and now today yet was locked by Banedon. For what reason? If it's because someone said "I told you so" or was being sarcastic, you're going to have approximately 127 locked threads in the next few months. I didn't post anything in there, it just seems extremely odd. 3 threads were bumped with the sole purpose of rubbing in the fact that Wood has done well. It was unnecessary. This one had been around the longest, and had recent posts, so it seemed like it was a good one to keep around. In any case, there isn't anything that would have been posted in there that can't be posted in here. The topics are quite similar. If there's 127 Wood threads bumped for this reason, than 127 locks it will be. It works the other way as well. Bud House couldn't wait to start a thread about Kerry's "bad back." Then he posted, what he thought was corroborating evidence, an article from the AP about Wood's rocky first appearance. The sad part is that he, and others, are Cubs fans yet a part of him is hoping that Wood gets injured (even though it would be to the overall detriment of the team) so he can start posting "I told you so..." One would hope that those threads would be locked as well. Again, that was in one thread...not three. I'm not telling anyone they can't say something. This isn't censorship. This is directing traffic.

So in essence you can say anything you want about any player you want, and aren't held accountable for what you say? OF course people are going to feel vindicated when he does well, and it's human nature to want to express that vindication. I told you so is alot better, IMHO, than some of the personal sniping that goes back and forth. Sham Closer for president! And this is why I left a thread open to express any vindication people might feel. It doesn't take 3 threads to do so. I'm not sure why this is an issue. I'm not preventing anyone from gloating....I'm just saying do it in one spot.
  9. Bako is slugging .286! 4 hits. 4 singles.
  10. Urlacher is mad at the Bears, presumably over contract extention negotiations, and will skip the first voluntary offseason workout. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/cs-080406-brian-urlacher-chicago-bears,1,3486170.story

  12. You are a pretty shady source.
  13. Wood doesn't have a bad back anymore. Thread closed.
  14. Only one Wood thread bump is necessary...I'm gonna close this one and the bad back one since that clearly isn't an issue anymore.
  15. Wait...our team is going to get on base more often because Kerry Wood is closing games? Even if that's true, isn't that a good thing?
  16. Is that true? On a KR he's got more time and space to plot his course. Punt coverage can be on you when you catch the ball. I think the idea though is that you don't have Hester going one way full speed with a defensemen coming full speed the other direction. And he'll fair catch on punts much more often.
  17. The Tigers are 2 back too...what a crappy team that is too.
  18. did you hear that mods? you have cursed us They are 0-2 since the following events occurred: Cliff Floyd joined the Rays. NSBB changed to PHPBB3. My wife sprained her ankle. My son became obsessed with Elmo. Derwood put that crazy stormtrooper bunny in his sig. The Jeremiah Wright controversy! (Man that guy did have a lasting effect!) Fukudome was signed. Wrigley Field's playing surface was redone. abuck's favorite movie, Juno, was released. It snowed in the LA area. MurtonFan started this poll. The Writers Strike has come and gone. (They messed everything up) The blue uniforms were un-retired. The Brian Roberts thread was STARTED. (Locking it was just trying to close Pandora's box.)
  19. I hear Ricky Henderson is available. Doesn't he play leadoff?
  20. They already try, and it's easier said than done. Sure, but lets say they throw a 40 yard bomb and a pushout happens...that's going to be negated now if the defense manages to push them out of bounds before both feet come down? EDIT: I suppose it is a lot less likely on a long pass.
  21. He was going by your avatar...thought he thought you were pretty hot to be named "David".
  22. It'll calm down as the season gets underway. Opening day overreaction is as much a tradition as anything else in baseball.
  23. The article was written in 1985.
