This is in the Trib. It's nothing to be concerned about, it's just that negotiations with players that are still under contract can take time. Sounds like he's gonna make some serious cash.

Almost more amazing is that the Cubs are being beat in both categories by Dusty Baker's Reds...he of "clogging the bases" disdain. I'd venture to say the Reds don't finish the season that well, at least not in drawing walks.

Why are we even mentioning situational badness with Soriano right now? He's bad in all situations right now. If he was batting really good without men on base, or early in games with nothing on the line, it'd be worth the argument...but since he's in a universal slump right now, it seems a little strange to pick on his "clutchiness".

For a lot of players. But given Cedeno's makeup and skills, they probably aren't the best indicator for him. I addressed this a few pages ago. I would argue 500 AAA ABs in 2007 are a better indicator than 70 MLB ABs. I also addressed this a few pages ago. That's a funny way to skew the stats. Saying more AB's is a better representation than a few?

The point is that non of us are "Cedeno fans"...we just think that he's better than Theriot as a SS option. That's all. And it seemed a strange day to call him unfit for an MLB roster, when he'd hit a bases loaded double earlier.

At this point, I think this is simply trolling. You're trying to rile up the sizable pro-Cedeno crowd here. Pardon? What is your problem? I didn't even bother to read the previous posts in this thread, nor is there a reason to. I merely logged on here to express my utter disbelief that Cedeno continues to get chances to suck on this roster. I've been a member here for a few years, and have numerous posts. Your "trolling" comment is offensive and belittling; I'd suggest you rethink your comment. Isn't this a game thread - a place where forum members can post their comments on the game? Cedeno has driven in half of today's runs. You're welcome to post what you want, but you might want to rethink it as well. 3.5 rbi? Impressive. Well it was a double.... ;)
