  1. Yawn. It's like a song that was good the first time you heard it, but it gets played and played and played...eventually everyone is sick of it! Honestly though, after the Bears lost the Super Bowl they didn't get a prime time game to start the follow season either. Hmmm Bears or Pats, I think there is a bit of a difference there. One team has the most explosive offense in football history the other has a QB who can't hold on to a snap, hmm what to choose, what to choose? Both went the same distance in the playoffs. I get what you're saying, I'm just saying that it's consistent with past behavior. 2005's Super Bowl loser was the Seahawks, and they started the season against Detroit. The year before that, Philly did get the Monday night game after losing the Super Bowl, but it appears to be that the Super Bowl loser really just doesn't get any special consideration with opening games...

  4. Yankees got rained out, and Boston doesn't play today. What will ESPN do?
  5. He hit 95 in the first and 94 in the second.
  6. I like this better. I have a full screen...I like to use it.
  7. Juan Pierre vs Ryan Theriot as a leadoff hitter. Discuss.
  8. The only thing I can think is to make the catcher overthrow and try to steal a run. But with your #4 hitter up, that seems silly. I'm betting Gwynn did that on his own.
  9. Gameday is working like a champ for me. User error....
  10. I'm rooting for this to get delayed till around 3:45...I'm off work at 3:30...
  11. Peter King talks about the owners meetings...some notes: 1) There's a proposed penalty for hair that covers the name on your jersey. Peter thinks it's unlikely to pass because of perceived racial overtones. 2) It's likely that defenses will get 2 players with headsets in the helmets thanks Bellichek and Spy-gate. 22 teams said yes last year. Only 24 need to say yes for it to pass. Only 1 player on the field at a time would get the headset, but one on the sideline could wear it in cases of substitution. If both those players happen to be out, or injured, then it's back to signaling in from the sidelines. 3) Nothing is being done about the "last second time out" rule that was enacted last year that allowed teams to call time out just before a last second field goal kick. In fact, no teams even brought it up as a point of concern on the end of year surveys.
  12. I'd have rather they just spent the big money on Turner rather than draft someone. I'm tired of the unknown quantities at that position.
  13. Well, I'm doing this a couple hours early...but it's time. Good bye Brian Roberts thread. What a waste.
  14. That isn't a good thing. This tournament is boring as hell.
  15. Ugh...that was terrible.
  16. You were saying?
  17. Actually I didn't, but that's funny. :)
  18. This Pontiac/Spyhunter commercial is fun.
  19. Heh...Davidson's website is nigh unreachable right now.
