    Stupid mlb blackout restrictions prohibits me from watching Cincinnati games.....from north carolina!!!! It was really fun though reading these past 10 pages to recap the game though :) GO CUBS...GO cards??? :|

    I'd like to see Ronny and Matt start tonight to shake things up. cubs win a close one 4-3 after the game, jones is traded to nobody particular and the cubs acquire church for billy petrick and scott moore. just a gut feeling.

    I wonder how far apart time-wise this happened in relation to Pie getting pulled. DUDE. Ramirez was pulled in the middle of today's game too. They're trading EVERYONE!! Dumatrait was pulled alittle before 8, and Pie and Kroeger were pulled at 8:30. As I said, the odds are they have nothing to do with each other. you are, by far, the most knowledgeable reds fan i have ever met.

    Agreed with that sentiment. We'd need to be confident we could resign Adam. Quick question, is there any chance this means absolutely nothing? No callup, no trade, nothing? Because that seems hard to believe. Barring the HIGHLY unlikely chance that both were injured, I would have to say no. This may be a very big night (or next day) for the cubs. PS- If it's Tex, I'm going to cry.

    Who here would trade Pie for Dunn straight up? Reds44 said that he would not for Dunn and I'm riding the fence. It would be a big loss IMO if we couldn't sign Dunn long term. If we sign him long term then I'm OK with it, but with the ownership change I'm not confident that we could.

    Yahoo They aren't "offering" him, that doesn't mean they aren't listening to offers. And as far as cincy not asking for junior's permission on a trade, he has already reportedly given a list of teams he would like to play for. The cubs were on that list.

    I wish I had your confidence in that possibility. I'm dreading a Pie for Octavio Dotel-ish move. Hendry is stupid with contracts, but for the most part he has been fairly good/average with trades. He knows that Pie is and deserves to be this organizations best prospect. Bullpen isn't the cubs biggest need and it's not even close. Dempster has been solid as well as marmol, wuertz and howry as set up men. I have faith that he's not THAT stupid. I'm calling it now, if Pie is traded, then it is for Ken Griffey Jr. ps-I still think someone less important (jones) was traded.

    It's possible, but if it was an injury, they would probably wait until after the game or most likely tomorrow to assess the situation fully. This definitely raises eyebrows. If pie is traded then we got a stud, but more than likely IMO, Jones(or somebody else) was traded and pie is taking the extra roster spot.

    +1 boy it's a bad sign when i'm becoming the voice of reason somebody has to suck it up and do it. it's getting extremely bi-polar around here. but then again, i guess it always has been. life of a cub fan.
