    I used to umpire little league and quit because I couldn't stand all the whining and complaining from the coaches/fans. Something tells me I wouldn't have made it far had I continued.

    Seriously! On Baseball Tonight (I know, consider the source...) they were talking up all the "division leaders" and whether teams like the Cubs should be worried. Nevermind the fact that they actually still have a winning record. It's ridiculous. It's like trying to predict how worried an NFL team should be after week one.     He's got four years of coach K "flopping" under his belt...he'll be the easiest QB ever to sack. Edit: Nevermind, I glanced over this line in GRCubs post :oops: Either way, like others have said, I hope this happens because it would be quite interesting.

This site is going down hill if that type of post is allowed. And considering Banks' grandkids will be a full generation older than mine I'm pretty sure they won't be playing with each other. No. I didn't call you a racist. Here. And seeing as how Ernie just adopted the kid, then no, his grandkids will not be significantly older than yours. I guess I probably should have linked that thread in the first place, but I didn't realize that it had been that long. For that, I apologize, but I was just joking around. Calm down, I wasn't calling you a bigot.

    This time last year I NEVER thought I'd have heard a Cubs fan say that. Also: I'm worried about not having the versatility that DeRosa gave us, and I'm going to miss the 9th inning dominance of Kerry Wood. And, I fear Bradley may be in "justify the contract" mode and pressing. I just hope the fans don't get on him too much or he'll flip out and then we're really in trouble. Oh, and next year the Fukudome contract is going to be a horrible albatross. We'll either have to eat it in a trade, do a garbage for garbage trade like the Hundley for Grudz and Karros trade ended up being (although we got really lucky there), or we'll have to trade a really good young prospect to whoever takes him so they'll eat most of that contract. No matter what, it's not going to end well. Or, you know, he could actually rebound and have a decent year. Or is that already completely out of the realm of possibility after playing one whole game?

    ??? Marmol is hurt now, too? He threw 25 pitches last night. If he would've come in and thrown 25 tonight people would have complained about that also Not with an off day on Thursday. good point. Hopefully it's just Lou figuring out that it's OK to use TWO pitchers instead of completely abusing the same one over and over.
