  1. Wells with a WHIP over 2 today. He was lucky only surrendered 2 runs. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  2. Buehrle. Unfortunately Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  3. Haha. Byrd would like 5 balls. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  4. Mlb.tv robbed me of my 3 stooges sneak preview. Refund, please... Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  5. Come on, man, they were an 11 seed. They overachieved to get to that point. They played less than their best basketball and still almost won because Kansas did the same. That's not an excuse, it's a team that is good, but not that good, but playing like they are belong there. Plus, they kinda got screwed by the refs but I'm not going to blame the loss on that. And their football team finished strong, as well. I'm fully aware of the ACC bias because it's [expletive] on NC State for years but NC State football should be "respectable to good" next year and NC State basketball is a lock for top 20 in the nation next year with or without Leslie. If Leslie stays, they are top 10.
  6. I ridiculed State hiring Gottfried this summer, but he could not have had a better first year. The difference between this year's and last year's CJ Leslie is incredible. What's the latest on Torian Graham? No news lately. Last I heard he was impressed with the changes (gross understatement) after watching his first State basketball game in a year last month. I'm still hopeful.
  7. Go Pack! I guess I'm the resident NC State fan here. But to be honest, that is the same way here in NC. Seems to be about 80% UNC fans, 19% Duke fans, with an occasional state or wake fan scattered amongst us. It's funny to me because nearly all UNC fans would be ridiculed if they stepped foot on UNC's campus... The wolfpack are talented, but they believe they are better than they are. And they are playing with that mentality thanks to Gottfried. Win or lose, I've never been more excited or proud to be an NC state fan. With 3 McDonalds All-Americans coming in next year the future seems bright. CJ Leslie is as athletic and talented as anyone in the ACC if he plays within his means. Brown isn't a true PG but he manages the game well and he adds a great composure and leadership element. Scott Wood is as good of a shooter as there is in the country if he is on. They aren't deep and foul trouble ([expletive] off ACC refs) can completely dismantle them, but I hope and think it will be a good game. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
  8. Excellent post CCP. I think with the change in philosophy and the increase in pitching consistency and defense, the cubs will hover somewhere near the .500 range for the most part. Not good enough to challenge for a playoff spot, but nonetheless interesting. Given the spike in MiLB talent (with or without Soler), it's more than enough to keep me watching. 9. we REALLY need some transactions to talk about.
  10. Holy cow. I really couldn't even tell that was Chipper. Yeesh! Oh, and Z just doesn't look right in another uniform...he looks to be in pretty good shape, too. Best of luck to him.
  11. He looked ripped to me. Demp looks fat. And Bryd got an awesome tatoo on his forearm.
  12. vomit times a million. you're not wrong, it's just that GOD i hate remembering that is our opening day lineup. especially that 3-5. oh, me too. i sat there for about a minute and tried to think of a way to move lahair out of cleanup, but in the end, i figured it just didnt matter anyway. i suppose sveum will probably use that same thought process at some point this season. ack.
  13. Assuming no more moves are made, I'd like to see this opening day lineup and this starting rotation: Dejesus Castro Soto Lahair Byrd Stewart Soriano Barney Garza Garza Dempster Wood Maholm Samardzjia (If not, Volstad and Wells in that order)

  15. I see your point. I was just giving you a hard time because "change in something" reads so incredibly vague at first glance. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
  16. or something changed

  18. Brett now hearing it will be "lesser value" than JV.
  19. First I'd like to say I'm really happy my name doesn't feature "Theo" in any way, shape, or form. I feel bad for the guy and hope its only another blip on the radar. I hate that his mishaps are there for the whole world to see. I get it comes with the territory, but God knows, I'd hate for the same to always apply to me. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
  20. I remember that he taught at Mt. Olive College at one point, which is about 10 minutes down the road from where I'm typing. He always seemed like a nice guy, hope any concerns he has turn out to be ok in the end. I'd like to add to the Todd Coffey conversation, but I'm not sure I have a feeling either way. I guess I could chime in and say "if he has a decent first half we could trade him off for prospects" like EVERY other signing this offseason. Actually, jersey already said that, so I can't even say that.
  21. Well they haven't made their way to Eastern NC, apparently. Not that I'm surprised. We have a ton of bars, but also a Baptist church on every corner. Yep. Pure luck and no skill involved, but should be fun. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
  22. I haven't read through the thread, so my apologies if this has been mentioned (which I seriously doubt it has been). Has anybody ever done the "Super Bowl Squares" form of betting? I had never heard of it before, but I have a co-worker from Buffalo that says it's big there. Anyway, I'm so happy I'm doing it this year because I couldn't care less about either of these teams. Also, you don't have to have the actual "winning" square at the end of each quarter, as touching (i.e. top, bottom, left, right - diagonal doesn't work), wins you a little more than the entry fee. This lack of Cubs transactions lately is really boring - just thought I'd share.
  23. oh my god, he likes train. terrible trade. I was about post this same thing. Drops from Jupiter is NOT a great song. I have to imagine he was being sarcastic. I'm going to tell myself that. OK, now I feel better.
