  1. Why was Wood called up? Is this the corresponding move to the DFA of Dewitt?
  2. His purpose is to be expendable when Brett Jackson is ready. I had kinda hoping they would dump Soriano's corpse by that point. I'd like to see Sappelt get some playing time in LF.
  3. I'm hoping I just reverse-jinxed Johnson.
  4. Reed Johnson is my least favorite cub. I don't guess it's anything personal, he just doesn't serve a purpose.
  5. Haha. His umpire rants are awesome. I really hope Len and Bob are calling games for years. Well, Len especially. What a fun game to watch. I've found this season very enjoyable so far. Maybe its because I have zero expectations for the season and still have Jackson and Rizzo to look forward to. If Demp can stay strong a front three of Garza, Dempster, Shark is really strong. Throw in a solid Maholm and Volstad (gotta figure his Stewart luck will run dry) and the cubs will at least be IN a lot of games this year. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  6. Stupid, towel throwing jerk. Seriously, if the Red Sox were willing to take a flier on him then I'm sure there is a *chance* he could become a competent MLB pitcher in some capacity. Maybe he'll never be anything more than an average middle relief pitcher. But, so long as you don't mind the long road ahead (as TT alluded), why would you not?? He could be an important part of a championship team. Money is not the issue. I'd happily trade places with him while earning my current salary. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  7. Welcome to the board!
  8. As much as I'm loving the NC State love for next year, I've seen as high as #4 and #6 in the nation. I think they CAN reach that ceiling, but I'm hoping they open the year around 15ish. They lost a couple key guys and you never know how soon the three McDonald AA will mesh (or if one or two will be a flop - I'm pretty positive Purvis is the real deal). Still, CJ Leslie returning was HUGE. Never been more excited about an upcoming college basketball season!! Sorry to interrupt the Big 10 conversation. Just wanted to throw my two cents in.
  9. I wish they'd just Marlon Byrd him already and bring up Cardenas.
  10. I want that hat
  11. It'll probably be the same way next year.
  12. Lost season or not, it's still more fun to win games than not. And LaHair is helping a ton in that regard right now. Enjoy it while it lasts and if he's still mashing around the ASB, then it's a good problem to have. Then you just figure out if he's more valuable as a bench bat/OF/or trade. Part of me asks the question, "how bad could he really be in LF?". But then the realistic part of me answers, "you probably don't want to know". I should probably go see a shrink about all these voices in my head...
  13. I did. But, to be fair, her second question sucked. Something along the line of, "how does it feel to have Campana's speed on the basepaths?". As if that had anything at all to do with Soriano's AB Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  14. Silly Soriano is silly. I actuality like Soriano as a human being, just not as an MLB player. Good for him. Cubs Win!!! Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  15. You're creative. If nothing else. Hey, how about a home run tomorrow? Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  16. I really like Matt Garza. I hope we extend him at this point. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  17. It's always fun when you get your hopes up and aren't let down. Unfortunately, with my crop of sports teams, its typically the opposite. But, it makes walk offs and big wins that much more satisfying. Hopefully the cubs have some more walk offs in them because big wins look like they'll have to wait until NC State basketball next season. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  18. Surprised pothead Soto wasn't so stoned that he touched third and ran back to second. Seriously though, that win felt way better than it probably should have. LaHairs AB was awesome. I thought for sure Mather was going to go down like flaming garbage after taking the first two down the middle. Go Cubs! Wins are fun. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  19. God, he sucks so hard. Please PH with Baker, please. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  20. Do something useful Soriano Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  21. Oh [expletive] [expletive]!! Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  22. This interview is awkward. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  23. 100 pitches now for Cueto. Any chance Dusty pulls him? Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  24. Lahair! I'm really amazed the cubs were able to score at all today. C'mon Soriano! Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
  25. Looked to be safe there. Tough call. Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
