  1. Same. Well at least favorite all-time non-cub. I collected any and all of his cards. I think at one point I had like 150 or something.
  2. What an awesome letter. Thanks for posting that, TT.
  3. this one? http://mlb.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pMLB2-20927416dt.jpg
  4. Travis Wood also says "hi"
  5. I'm thinking Zobrist will be higher - my best shot: CF Heyward 2B Zobrist 1B Rizzo LF Schwarber 3B Bryant RF Soler DH Baez C Montero SS Russell God that's fun to write (and if Schwarber is DH and it's Coghlan in LF that's fine - whatever)
  6. He's awful. His show is just one hot take after another, and they are all wrong. All of them. Jim Rome is just as bad, though. Can they be tied for worst person on earth? Stephen A Smith has to be in this conversation too. And oh yeah Michael Wilbon is horrible. Skip Bayless is insufferable. Why do so many sports "journalists" suck so hard? Everyone just needs to stop watching/listening to this absolute garbage. Which, of course, they never will.
  7. Colin Cowherd may literally be the worst person in the world.
  8. Morning drive has very little music and mostly Morning Zoo shows. It's not a long enough commute to bother plugging in the phone for bluetooth?
  9. this is so far the only acceptable answer. and just barely.
  10. I have no clue who Stu Gotts is, but that's not surprising as - other than live sports or the occasional sportscenter - i never watch espn. why put yourself through that? glutton for punishment?
  11. it's still pretty funny, david edit: well i mean other than kids contracting serious illness through lack of vaccination. that's never a laughing matter
  12. With polio or whooping cough?
  13. well that's certainly one way to put it. not how I would, but definitely one way.
  14. enjoy your time now, Derrick. there's no guarantee you'll be healthy enough after an NBA career to spend any more time with him.
  15. Baseball (and really any sports) jerseys are so damn expensive that I can't imagine buying one for a current player unless he's a slam dunk legend. I ended up just getting a Santo when I finally did get one because I wanted to make sure it would always be relevant. i'm either cheap or broke (lol just kidding i'm cheap bc i'm broke) but that's my criteria for sherseys. i'm wearing my Bryant shersey right now.
  16. yeah that ending kind of sucked. as an NCSU fan i pretty much am immune to watching bad basketball. i just hope for close games most of the time.

he actually sent me one today. the card read "thanks for your continued support. it would seem easy to like a super-likable player who's been a part of an - at times -terrible cubs franchise over these past 9 years. but, some fans don't i guess. as you heard on my radio interview today on the score, regardless of how harsh fans were at times, I truly feel the cubs fan base is the best. " did you not get yours?
  18. the end of this WISC/MARQ game has been an absolute delight. hoping Wisconsin can tie it up in this last 30 secs.
  19. thanks, tim. yeah i'm really intrigued by the candle man. the damn team and farm are so stacked with talent it's insane. with the holidays, december always flies by. then just have to suffer though january and february before we get to see them on the field again! in my 33 years i've never been as eager and stoked about spring training as i will this year.
  20. sherseys are the way to go for adults imo ETA: unless it's to an actual game - which i view as perfectly fine. unfortunately, i'm not one of you lucky jerks that really ever gets that opportunity. and thanks to daycare costs, probably won't anytime soon. THANKS, HENRY. (just kidding when i take him to his first cubs game that is going to be so damn amazing).
  21. isn't there a logjam at 3B between AA and AAA? I'd love for him to be a cheap, productive backup next year for the cubs. or traded for good value, of course, if some team views him as a candidate for a starting 3B job.
  22. well at least he does have one dong in those 16 AB. and alcantara bums me out. this is mostly because i bought that signed pair of his game-worn batting gloves. they're still cool, i guess, but if he were an actual productive member of the team that would be really nice. oh well, money went to a good cause at least.

you should have spoilered this just in case derwood came across it. this post is going to enrage him
  24. absolutely. don't have a link, but jed (i believe) literally said some along the lines of "baez is going to be like our ben zobrist". and the funny thing was that this was said AFTER they acquired ben zobrist.

just listened to it. the guy is pure class. he said he's happy about the opportunity to play in NY, but you can tell a little in his voice he's going to miss not being a part of the cubs future. nothing would make me happier than to see him become a star in NY. and jesus christ, i knew he was hot in september, but they just said he hit .420 for the entire month!
