  1. did he get into a bar fight before that pic?
  2. Also, last night I hung out with friends and some friends of friends. Anyway, this guy they call "Z" who I've met a few times (and knows my Cub love) said he was going to Chicago in mid-May for work. And he said if I paid for my own flight I could stay with him and he would pay for us to go to the Pirates/Cubs games that weekend. Which, is really damn nice but I literally have no idea what his first or last name is. But it's been 26 years since 7-year-old Daniel visited Wrigley and I just got my tax refund so I'm booking the flight and Z and I will be BFF for one weekend at least.
  3. I actually liked Dez's Fetty Wap walk up music
  4. Oh, Carrie. Never change.
  5. I love this entire organization so damn much
  6. sometimes I still can't believe the Cubs signed Jason horsefeathering Heyward. God I can't wait for this season to start.
  7. I didn't even scroll down to read the replies before my eyes were already tearing up. I think it was especially how she had her first hug and then wanted more. Also, horsefeathers cancer.
  8. Thanks for sharing - I got goose bumps a couple of times reading that article and thinking about this year. So effing excited to get this thing started.
  9. Welp. This UCONN/Cincinnati game is pretty much the best game in the history of basketball. Glad I've been watching it instead of working today.
  10. i was wondering why orioles fans were so worked up about little ol dexter fowler and then i remembered that he probably doesn't project to be like the 11th best player on their team like he does on ours
  11. Side note: In Muscat's article I linked earlier, with the news that Baez will be the backup first baseman, I predict that Javy will appear at every position on the diamond except catcher this year (well and of course I doubt he pitches)
  12. http://m.cubs.mlb.com/news/article/165555454/cubs-jake-arrieta-displaying-good-form http://i.imgur.com/QONVIyz.gif
  13. Random, but it's happened over and over and over. Does anyone else see this thread bumped and initially read it the title as, "Intentional Thread 2015-2016"? I swear I do that every time for some reason. then i read it in my head "intentional thread...no you dumbass you do that every single time. it's international". repeat. anyway. i appreciate reading and hearing the thoughts of people that are much smarter on these players than I am. carry on!
  14. ECU will be visiting y'all this weekend. Haven't checked to see if it's on TV, but will definitely have to listen in on radio if not. I have probably a half dozen baseball players as advisees and they all seem to be really nice and down to earth guys. I've also been really impressed with what I've heard from Coach Godwin. Hopefully they can steal a game or two from UVA this weekend.
  15. Rizzo Schwarber Bryant Heyward Soler Baez Zobrist Russell Montero And Montero still OPS's .700
  16. his face/head looks like it weighs as much as the rest of him
  17. I have a love/hate thing going on with the UNC/Duke game. As an NC resident, I appreciate the rivalry and history of the match-up. but, it's quickly overshadowed by the disdain I have for both fanbases (mostly of people that would never, ever be admitted to either school and, if they were, would be ridiculed by their student body). I also really hate roy williams and mostly don't care much for coach K. so, after typing out my emotions I guess more of a hate/hate thing, I guess. Finally, I hate Dickie V and partially blame him for this somehow. It's on the ACC network here but if he's doing the game for ESPN then I feel for all the poor souls suffering through his horrible "analysis". I hate the sound of his voice so much.
  18. that montero picture reminded me of PS2 graphics
  19. Nobody expects the double reverse fake-out! It's like the fake to first, fake to third. that play went out with blue suede shoes
  20. i have literally only met one person in my whole life that hated on sosa openly to me. he was a guy i knew for about 2 months who sublet an apartment for a roommate of mine while I was in college. And he didn't like him because of the corked bat incident. we had lots of good arguments, come to think of it. i feel like everyone else either didn't care enough or they knew how much I loved him and the cubs and just didn't want to make an issue of it with me (if they actually didn't like him - i don't know).
  21. CCR is the new EPDs Credence? yes. the first several minutes of that video he is listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival while he threw.
  22. I mean I guess i noticed it on some level but maybe didn't appreciate how cool it was? But no, I don't remember Chip Carey or people like mojo's grand dad or anyone else mentioning it/complaining about it. that's not to say they didn't - just that I didn't hear a ton about it. I also live halfway across the country from Chicago so it's not like I have tons of cubs fans or chicago media all around me. I was also younger then and now that I'm old and ish in my early 30's my memory sucks. I think that covers all my bases so far as excuses because I was starting to get piled on quick there.
  23. Maybe had something to do with being down 2-0 and then getting completely blown out when down 3-0 and having next to nothing to cheer about in those games vs. a clip of a game tying homer in the bottom of the ninth and a blowout win in game two. not to mention TBS failed miserably at their attempt from a production standpoint
  24. The Sosa hop is better than a bat flip. the sosa hop was actually something that i only noticed after he was gone from the cubs/baseball. it just seemed so natural i never noticed it. but it kind of feels surreal going back and watching it now and picking up on it. plus, he hit so many damn dongs that i'm sure it was just seemed second nature to see it. i will forever love that man
