  1. The whole Royal roster plus their whole farm system for Pie. (Royals pay all salaries) I still don't think I'd do it. I would do a Pie for Butler and Alex Gordon in a heartbeat. If the Royals want to add their entire farm system for Pie let them go ahead. If Gordon ever signs, he will probably be a better prospect than Pie before too long.
  2. What? Are you telling me it's not just the ball he can't get up? BTW, I never understood Burroughs lack of power. He's a big boy. He doesn't seem to swing down at the ball either. Remember how awesome he was in the LLWS? Funny how that works. And Burroughs won't be Boggs unless he gets a big green wall to slap doubles off of.
  3. if we consolidated all the neifi and dusty threads into one thread, it would be so big, it would have its own gravitational pull, and it would cause the internets to blow up.

    Amazin' A's

if da ellis didnt shop at wal-mart, he would have done better.
  5. I'm glad you were able to admit that. Rather big of you dude. You've never been to Wrigley? Dang. I think it would be harder to be a fan of your team and never make the pilgrimage than to be the guy who lives walking distance from the stadium and goes all the time. That's dedication. Also, what is up with all the highway tolls in your state? I didn't know they were there and had no change on me driving through. What a pain. I've been to one game at Wrigley in my life. It took six months of convincing the school board to let my class take our senior trip to Chicago, but I raised the money by myself and convinced them to let us go. All so I could watch the Cubs play the Reds, once. I raised the money for all the tickets myself too. As far as the tolls, tell me about it.
  6. Id rather have Trot when healthy, and neither right now.
  7. I've lived in Oklahoma my whole life (23 years omg), and for 18 years growing up, I never had a chance to get to Chicago and see the Cubs. I am such a huge fan that I went on a campaign for 6 months of my senior year in high school, to get our senior class to Chicago for our senior trip, just so I could watch a Cubs game at Wrigley. One game. If you don't want to count me as a real fan, go ahead.

    If

I never understood why candy and nuts made for a wonderful christmas. Maybe for some people, but for me, ugh.
  9. plz let leaving in padilla be a mistake. charlie manuel is stupid btw
  10. IIRC, Padilla has been on the DL most of the year. small sample size He's thrown 90 innings, and this is his 17th start. He's just plain bad, though hes been pretty good his last 4.
  11. Fortunately for Todd, he's hitting .295 this year.
  12. No one is "ripping on him" because theyre expecting .320 with 30 homers and 120 rbis, they're ripping on him because he is awful.
  13. im going to go ahead and jinx zambrano and say cg shutout.
  14. sig or poster? this expert would be fine either way.
  15. i really, really hate all this steroid speculation.
  16. Its just that he seems to pull the race card in every article he writes. Oh I know, im not defending Scoop, I think he's horrible. Im just saying that if a writer responsibly brings up the race card, good for them.
  17. Cobs.com is way behind the times.
  18. I remember when he used to write for Slam Magazine. I loved that magazine, but every article was worthless. Everything written in it, Scoop's stuff included, was nothing more than a circlejerk for the players. Hell, according to Slam, Marcus Camby was the next Kevin Garnett. Anyway, I don't have a problem with someone playing the race card, racism definitely exists in sports, and if you want to call attention to it, I'm all for it. I just hate it when the race card is used like it was in this article.
  19. Roy Oswalt was a 20th rounder too... I'd say he has a fair amount of raw talent. Sometimes every team just misses on a guy's potential. Actually, 23rd round. Though he was 22 and dominated AA when he was there, not 24 like Sing.
  20. quote /= edit
  21. Woohoo, Harvey is still hot-hot-hot his hot streak coincides with serena getting me da autograph...coincidence?
  22. Wasnt his career ops+ like 80? I dont have a problem with Ozzie being in the HOF, and I HATED him when I was growing up. In it's current incarnation, Ozzie and Sandber belong. If the HOF were truely a HOF, Ozzie wouldn't be in, and Ryno would probably have just missed the cut. Ozzie was a below average hitter at his position, and was way above average defensively. Sandberg was an above average hitter at his position, and was above average defensively.
