  1. oh you bastard. are me and treeman mods yet
  2. that might be a record
  3. something to think about Nomar - .287 .335 .483 Ronny - .287 .332 .412 Furcal - .282 .352 .431 TOO CLOSE TO CALL
  4. I'll take an almost 1000 ops from lee. Ill take Barrett's season too. Oh, and if Cedeno is really just 70 points of slugging below Nomar, give me Ronny.
  5. Goony makes a good point. Calling them lucky does nothing to take away the fact that they played very well this year. The luck part is derived from getting so many good pitching performances out of so many, heretofore mediocre pitchers (aside for Buerhle). The starting pitching and the out of nowhere good bullpen, coupled with a weak division covered their horrible offense, and, as we all know, strong pitching dominates in a short series, so they capitalized and blew away the competition.
  6. I'd be first out the door No, IMB would bring back ZZ just to ban him again. Yeah, i have a long list of potential banees, Derwood isnt even close to the top. yet.
  7. Wow, that's weird. I live near the Cell and there have been only sporadic bursts of car honking and a few rounds of firecrackers going off. Not quite the wild celebration I expected. The only thing consistently loud is the helicopters flying around. they're all northside
  8. no, soccer players stick together.
  9. hahha that is basically the same thing i said, just substitute football for fishing and september for november.
  10. Funniest thing I've read in weeks. dont worry, you arent on my list.
  11. they should make me a mod, with ban privileges only. i would revel in it.
  12. GoSoxGo well, that didnt take long.
  13. Yeah people on this site never get down on Cubs management. It's all excuse making and White Sox hating. You're being sarcastic, right? We've been dissing Dusty Baker since the 2005 season began, and Jim Hendry and company haven't exactly escaped punishment either. Yes, he was. Good to see reality has started to take an effect then. I admit I don't have time to visit NSBB every day (or every week for that matter), but last time I was here there was nary a soul (no pun intended) who was willing to side with me when I called Hendry's work this season into question. All sarcasm aside, I imagine it's much harder to live in Chicago proper being a Cub fan right now. I don't, so that makes it easier on me. I'm sorry the Cubs won't be the team celebrating. Believe me, I am. Maybe this will be the impetus needed to bring a better ballclub to Wrigley. Oh please, I'd wager at least 75% of the regular posters here have been upset with Hendry since opening day.
  14. I can see why he wants so much, I mean, they were going to pay Beane 2.5 million to be the GM, and Epstein accomplished what they wanted Beane to do.
  15. Well, youre right, I probably shouldnt have said that I dont care at all, because obviously replying shows at least some interest. And the truth is that karma is a huge pet peeve of mine, because it's just something that people believe in for the hell of it. There is no reason to think that it actually exists, how could you?
  16. why do you care what other people believe? I don't care, it's just that karma is a ridiculous thing to believe in and I can't imagine how any intelligent person could fall for it. Can anyone tell me why they believe in karma? Offer me up one piece of evidence why you think karma exists.
  17. it makes me feel worse knowing that people still believe in karma, though.
  18. Hey, dont feel bad, ive gone 0-2 in the last two weeks, losing by a combined 2 points.
  19. "MY ANCESTORS SAW BOB GIBSON FORD THE OHIO RIVER, AND HIS OXEN DIED, AND ONE OF HIS SONS DIED OF DYSENTARY, BUT HE STILL THREW A ONE HITTER, ITS TRADITION MAN"
  20. lololol i checked to see if you were right, and i got a bunch of nude shots. all right!
  21. i used those same words after the cowboys game, as well.
  22. money works out well. works out well.
  23. I think it's worse to play a team that is just dicking around out there in the field, not trying. Might as well let your kids learn a lesson and toughen up.
  24. 2 weeks in a fuckin row
