  1. Hawkins, Rojas, Alfonseca, etc. were good before becoming Cubs. If you gripe every time the Cubs sign a reliever via free agency, you're bound to be correct 95% of the time. It's a snake bitten organization. lol how was alfonseca "good"?
  2. Yup. Here's Ryan v. Dempster, and remember that Demp began 2005 in the rotation: http://www.baseballreference.com/r/ryanb.01.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/d/dempsry01.shtml Anyone have Dempster's closer-only stats? Dempster as a reliever in 05': 4-0 57 G 1.85 ERA 33/35 sv/svo 58.1 IP 46 H 12 ER 1 HR 3 HBP 27 BB/ 53 SO Yeah, those are really good. I just hope he either a.) lowers the walk rate or b.) keeps that HR/A rate, otherwise his numbers could get ugly
  3. That's what shook me - 3 years made more sense. The spending is over the top so far this year, and it ain't just Hendry. Well, Wagner was offered 4 years, and Ryan is younger (with far less mileage on his arm), so I guess thats not too surprising either.
  4. We all figured it would take 9 or 10 a year to get him. It's a lot of money, but not that surprising, I guess. (Other than the years)
  5. i remember waking up at my friends house, seeing this deal on espnews and thinking "I NEED TO GET HOME SO I CAN READ NSBB" By the time i got here, the thread was at like 80 pages.
  6. Good for him, he's a Georgia native, right?
  7. 1. Felix Pie +10 +10 2. Rich Hill +10 +6 3. Mark Pawelek +10 +8 4. Ronny Cedeno +10 +8 5. Renyel Pinto 6. Sean Gallagher 7. Sean Marshall +10 +8 8. Eric Patterson +10 +7 9. Ricky Nolasco +10 +7 10. Ryan Harvey +10 +7 141
  8. No one dislikes Neifi because of his defense. And Grudz is as effective in the field as any other average second baseman.
  9. what does being fun to watch have to do with being good in the field?
  10. seconded i think tim mightve given me moderator status so ill go ahead and try to do it now EDIT i was wrong, he still hasnt done it Yeah, I'm still waiting for when everyone gets to be a moderator. i dont want everyone to be a moderator, just me and imb i think that tim must be waiting on us to pass a physical or something
  11. Gonzaga wins.
  12. Suton blows an open lay-up, and the refs signal for a weird held ball call. Gonzaga ball, on the line, up one, with 4.4 left to go.
  13. Man, I hope everyone is watching Gonzaga vs Mich St right now, Morrison vs Ager is the new Ali vs Frazier. Also Morrison has the worst stache i have ever seen. I cant figure out how someone could think that was a good idea. How could his friends let him out of the house like that?
  14. They've increased their payroll though. All is well when trying to emulate the Yankees. :pukel: Except for the whole winning thing. BTW, UK, are you as livid as I am about giving up draft picks on top of the millions and the guaranteed roster spots for middle relievers? Who isnt?
  15. Come to OKC so I can see Miggy and Dontrelle play all the time.
  16. I'm pretty sure that due to the number of type a's, we can sign 4.
  17. besides, me and tree should already be mods anyways
  18. You have to be kidding me. Replace your Burnitz level production (17 win shares) with Giles (35 win shares). 6 wins, right there. guess where that puts us?
  19. one of the best logos ever
