  1. I think the 40 page Bobby Howry thread was out of control. There have been hundreds (guess) of pages on Dunn with no basis for fact. How is this any different? In any case, none of it has any bearing on what actually happens, so what difference does it make? I apologize if that's not what you are getting at nolan, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing people say "Don't propose Dunn trades, it will never happen." So what? Who cares? This is an interesting philosophical discussion so whether it could happen or not is pretty irrelevant. I just think these threads are an excuse for members to argue with each other for absolutely no reason cause he won't be a cub. If you want to argue, argue about REAL POTENTIAL MOVES, OR MOVES WEVE ALREADY MADE. yeah dudes, be sure and ask this guy before you think about posting anything.
  2. No, he apparently wants a trade. Then we argued about Tejada. actually, about walker
  3. I have a Luke Wilson autograph. trade you
  4. Blanton over Roy O?
  5. i have a willie wilson autograph
  6. C-Kent 1b-Dunn 2b-Dunn (shrunken a little bit) SS-Kent Dunnker 3B-David Wright LF-Miggy C CF-Adam Merkunn RF-Dunn SP-Kent (only need one sp, he can go 9ip 5 days a week) CL-Dunn (bought brownlie's outlaw curve on ebay)
  7. God, people flip out about the stupidest stuff. No, Todd Walker is not anywhere near as valuable a player as Tejada, but offensively, they are just about historically equal. You can ignore the facts with whatever cliche "he just produces!" or "he's so clutch!" sayings you want, but the facts are Walker is offensively, just about equal to Tejada. Now, if you want to say that Walker doesnt stay healthy, or that Tejada plays a much more valuable position, that's true. Of course, no one that pointed out the Walker/Tejada thing was saying that.
  8. Cox just really, really wanted a veteran shortstop. I think we all just need to realize that managers are just more comfortable with veterans when possible. Even Cox, who played enough rookies last season to fill a school bus, would rather have veterans when possible.
  9. i can see it now "hey, is that....is that jim edmonds? maybe it is!" cut to jim edmonds "maybe it is? maybe its maybeline!"
  10. Or he trades them to the newly secondbaseless rangers for mench Rangers don't need a 2B. Ian Kinsler is ready, they'll simply move Young to 2B. And they'll be better overall for it. Wilkerson and Sledge means no more Sarge Lite, no more Nix. Outstanding move for Texas. Wow. Kinsler had a much better season than I remembered him having.
  11. If Soriano lives up to his road splits from last year, get ready for a godawful line from him in 06
  12. Or he trades them to the newly secondbaseless rangers for mench
  13. USC by more than 7, texas hasnt played a good team since Ohio State, and Ohio State is no USC.
  14. linda <3 <3 <3
  15. jesus christ the cubs are stupid, "dont worry woody, pitch in these meaningless games!" the whole damn organization is stocked with retards, top to bottom.
  16. not sure what to say to that.... awesome photoshop
  17. OHMY GAWD, how could they trade Dewon Brazelton?? He was Tampa's #1 prospect, you can't trade a guy like that!! He was at the top of BA's prospect list, that is the bible, they're never wrong. Tampa is stupid and overpaid. if youre going to be insane, at least be insane in one thread, instead of letting this garbage spill over into other places it doesnt belong. I see that sarcasm escapes you. No, the sarcasm is exactly what i was talking about.

  19. That is a very REALISTic point of view
  20. Ideally we'd be able to put that in every spot, but considering that we aren't low on players that can slug(Lee, ARam, Barrett), I'll take more slugging from the guy on our team that will get the most PA's. So why not hit him 2nd? That would be a better balance. After all, as the argument goes, a leadoff hitter is only once per game. If it were me, I'd put Walker and Murton 2nd or 6th. but then who hits first? I was operating on the assumption that we land Pierre. If things end up as they are now, the best possible lineup would have Walker and Murton 1-2, but I think we'll end up with one of the 4 "leadoff" guys that are out there. oh, i assumed that we were arguing about walker's leadoff merits because we were seeing if he was a better leadoff option than Pierre. If Pierre is on the team, I guess you hit him first and Walker second. Though, if things play out like last season, id rather do Walker first, Murton second and Pierre 8th.
  21. I think yes, if there is an abundance of slugging. In Walker's case, he doesnt really have enough to be a serious run producer, but he has enough to consistently get himself into scoring position. Hes not going to steal bases, but he has doubles power, so he can get himself to second base that way. Or you can look at it like since he has doubles power, you could hit him 2nd or 6th and drive in your better OBP options out of the 1, 3 and 4 holes. who are the better obp options?
