The Downtown Athletic Club has just announced that Brady Quinn has been awarded the 2006 Heisman Trophy. *pumps fists* Gets rid of a Heisman AND a national title contender. Pfft, it's a battle for second place after Chase Daniel. Mo Drew disagrees. So does AD. Wow, I totally forgot he existed (and UCLA played OU!). He'd be my #1 candidate for now, ahead of Quinn. I forgot too. I agree, he has a very good chance. How does Oklahoma look for next year? Unless they have a QB a heck of a lot better than Rhett Bomar coming, or Bomar improves by leaps and bounds, Peterson is going to be eliminated from the race by default. I wouldnt blame you for missing it, since OU was out of the national picture after day one, but by the end of the season, Bomar was 100% better than he was at the start. A lot of it has to do with, as a freshman, in 2004, he was essentially 4th on the depth chart, behind White, Grady and Thompson. That year, Thompson, even though he redshirted, was officially the backup. If White had gone down in a big game, Thompson's shirt would have been pulled, and he would have come in. So, Bomar got no snaps in 2004, and he had to split them in 2005. After he got some jitters out, and started getting all of the snaps in practice, he improved a ton.
