    What kind of idiot would file for free agency and then not let his agent take control? I know Sheffield did it, but I would guess that somewhere around almost 99.9% of all baseball players would get their asses handed to them in a negotiating room. What a stupid thing to chastise a player for.

    CHICAGO (AP) - 59 year old Craig Biggio moved one hit closer to 3,000 with a double to leftfield during the top of the fifth inning off of Chicago Cub starter Ted Lilly. The 75-year old Biggio had this to say after the game. "Having just celebrated my 87th birthday, this was a nice gift."

    CHICAGO (AP) - The DeRosa bandwagon crashed today during the second inning of the Chicago Cubs game versus one of their chief National League Central rivals, the Houston Astros. In the second inning, DeRosa - who quickly grew to fan favorite status after a hot start - grounded into a double-play off of Astros pitcher Woody Williams. This came a day after the second baseman went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in a loss to Milwaukee.
