  1. Isn't it time that we let DeRosa move on with his life?
  2. If OSU offers him $4m a year, what does it take to keep him at Kansas?
  3. god these announcers are freaking terrible they show the replay of the last foul, where the clock - placed on the screen by the producers - runs off five seconds after the whistle. Clearly the refs are looking at the replay monitor to see how much time gets put back on. Jim Nantz - "Trying to see who to put the foul on"
  4. kansas is going to win this game, unbelievable
  5. wow, one of the biggest shots in NCAA history.
  6. what a rebound, saved CDRs ass.
  7. Is Blake Griffin staying? My first guess is that he declares but doesn't sign an agent. I think he really wants to stay and play another year with his brother - and one with Willie Warren. If he works out and they tell him he'll be a top-5 guy (when he gets measured at 6'8", I doubt he will be), this all changes.
  8. don't you dare ever speak to me without clearing it with me how i desire to be spoken to, first. i hired you and i can fire you just as easy
  9. Every year I wonder if the NBA is going to change, size-wise. I guess it will probably never happen - and it's probably a perception thing, anyway - but it doesn't seem like there are as many classically sized guys now as there used to be. You get big PGs like Rose that don't distribute as much, or small SGs like Mayo that can't shoot as well (though that's debatable with how he ended the year). I always assumed that teams would get away from drafting big white stiffs at center just because they were seven feet tall, and the height difference would trickle down.
  10. Your post lacks the biting sarcasm I've come to expect from you. Having sympathy for me tonight? I know, I'm working atm and it's hard to be funny and pay attention to a baseball game at the same time.
  11. Brian Roberts was also dealing with all of the same business, and he has a 1.131 OPS. I think I've stumbled onto the new moneyball. All you do is put trade rumors up around your roster in the offseason and just sit back and enjoy the career high OPS
  12. Uh, he has a .953 OPS right now. I'd say the errors will even themselves out as the season goes along.
  13. little known fact: the late 90s yankees instituted a strict "lashes for errors" policy that torre credited for their improved team defense
  14. 7 walks in 31 plate appearances
  15. ballin, thank god the pirates are worse fundamentally than we are
  16. i just went over to baseball reference and you know what i was shocked to find out? No team that has started the season 3-4 has EVER made the playoffs. In fact, back in 1898, the Indianapolis Browns lost four out of their first seven games and the entire team died of polio. If we dont win this, we might as well start the countdown for football season. No crap? Did they have trolls back in 1898 too? I don't know. They probably did have short-sighted, overreacting fans, though. "I say, Gaylord, old Tinkers just isn't swinging the lumber early in these baseball contests" "Agreed, Jeremiah! He has the work ethic of one of my granddaddy's slaves!" "Oh, Gaylord, you slay me. This Tinkers fellow doesn't care whether we win or lose! It's quite unfortunate! He probably just wants to mosey over to his shanty and count his thousands!"

  18. Lol, 2 Shaqs wouldn't have gotten to that
  19. (You'll always be UK to me) When a team scouts a high school player, how do they scout his plate discipline? I see a lot of high school baseball, but just about everyone ends up with a high ISOD, and I imagine that based on the talent of the majority of the pitchers these kids face on a day to day basis, the stats get thrown out anyway.
  20. but seriously what about the pleated dockers
  21. did you have your pleated pants on
  22. While I do not agree that Marquis and Dempster are better than Marshall, I agree this is a good problem to have. Some of you guys want to have it both ways. Marshall will be back after one of these guys gets moved, likely Marquis. I like how you say this like it's too much to expect to have rotation depth and have the best players in the rotation.
