  1. Please no one respond to my posts - i'm not in the mood to be trolled. in fact, whenever i think about baseball, i think i'll just email them to myself to make sure that no one responds and trolls me.
  2. hmm, upton or hanley (if he can play CF) if i picked a pitcher, hamels, maybe. Or Kershaw.
  3. Bull pucky. He waved at me when i opened the gate for him in the parkinglot. Oh, you work for the Cubs? I lol'd. Roast does works for the Cubs, he does crowd control in the bleachers I think. oh for gods sake
  4. we'd probably have to get a third team involved
  5. I thought Mulder was throwing in the 70s
  6. i remember when we used to have "happy pawelek day"

  10. That's incredible. I've always thought about making a blog dedicated to collecting those type of videos. Videos of watch party reactions, or just videos of crowds in general? Because I always loved the center field shot of the crowd of Wood's home run in Game 7 of the NLCS. I can't believe Wrigley didn't collapse. Just reaction videos in general, it's the best thing that youtube does. that's a brilliant idea. WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP

  13. It was crystal clear. Barrett started what he couldn't finish. Z was a complete idiot, but nothing would have happened if Barrett wasn't a hot head who made the first physical move. Z was just very quick to respond. It wasn't crystal clear at all. I also watched the video a lot and saw nothing that I would even remotely consider a lunge from Barrett. Barrett's body weight moved toward Zambrano before Zambrano pushed him. It was clear. He may have not been trying to throw the first punch, but he was trying to initiate contact, and got it. It's funny that everyone sees it differently. When I watch it, I see contact from both of them at the exact same time.
  14. Spring training means something. Spring training statistics and records do not. I know that's sort of not the point, but it's a misrepresented point that bothers me.
  15. I don't know or care whether leadoff is a position or not as that is semantics. I do know you must have capable on base players at the top & we don't have that. Roberts is clearly one of the best in the game & I feel would provide a huge boost to a struggling lineup. The Cubs have scored almost half a run more per game than they did last year, when they finished 8th. They're on pace for 833 runs, which would have finished third in the NL a year ago.
  16. i, for one, have been saying for years that one of the cubs' biggest problems is a lack of investment in robots. with the renewed interest from the cubs in pacific rim scouting, maybe robotic investment is the next step
  17. none whatsoever, and i absolutely do not want roberts anywhere near this team
  18. I'm Obama's big caucus
  19. I don't know, would you like to discourse it? i believe it has been officially requested that you stick your sacrcasm (sic) straight up your (redacted)
  20. Yes honey, it's true. I'm as much man as machine, now. But these trade rumors, they still get to me. I promised myself I wouldn't cry. I'll get rusty.
  21. During the opening day rain delay, they played parts of a Cubs documentary. They interviewed some guy, about Sandberg. Some guy: He was one of those players who was good, but he couldn't tell you why he was good. You're Peoria Chiefs manager, everybody.
  22. I think the answer he's looking for - and it's something that no one here has mentioned yet, to my knowledge - is bionic surgery. Could we maybe stress to DeRosa that he gets robot legs? Maybe even robot arms and a cyborg eye? just something to think about.
  23. The power hasn't shown itself yet this year and apparently his D leaves something to be desired. Not sure where this comes from since he threw out 4 runners tonight.... and as for one of the earlier posts, Ashwood only threw what he did because of pitch counts. 68 pitches in 3 + innings. he had three at-bats over 10 plus pitches due to foul ball after foul ball... He's talking about Thomas
  24. the six mil is the signing bonus, the contract would be 3.5 mil at least that was the word this morning
