  1. Whoever pays arenado will regret it
  2. we've spent like 3 years posting pictures of bryce harper in a cubs uniform and it all blows up in our faces less than a week into the offseason lol
  3. my favorite memory of the smyly era was cubswin talking about how many innings smyly was going to throw in september and the playoffs for us last year
  4. lol at the idea of paying mccutchen 45 million for what will probably be about 3 war over the lifetime of the deal
  5. Me three, I was stuck in suspended animation when Buck was explaining the slip. horsefeathers what an amazing moment. that whole god damn thing was moving in slow motion for me. I'd never heard of that loser at the plate before in my life but i just assumed he was their super-fast dude every team has on the playoff roster. As soon as bryant looked less than sure footed I was 100 percent living in a reality where that ball sails into the dugout.
  6. my timehop was a hilarious wave of pitiful tweets
  7. They were 11th in the NL in home runs last year with all those boys on the roster. And one home run off of first the year before that with the same cast of characters. I'm also told that the hitting coach last year was unpopular. Point being that if the primary thing you're worried about is home runs(since the team scored plenty of runs, had a high wRC+, etc), the players on hand already are going to make or break that, you aren't going to ship off Schwarber in search of more homers. you're getting caught looking backwards. Bryant is an unknown now power-wise, Rizzo is officially out of his prime, Baez had a career year, and Contreras hit like 7 home runs last year. That's not a guarantee that they'll all be sapped of power again in 2019 but it certainly lowers the odds that you can just count on them to be well above average in the dong department again
  8. NEVER SETTLE FOR THESE DONGLESS SCUMBAGS. Your home runs uber alles campaign is going to some strange places. Wherever will an offense with Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Schwarber, and Contreras find power? They were 11th in the NL in home runs last year with all those boys on the roster.
  9. i do not understand this. Why is Smyly involved in us picking up Hamels option?
  10. Yeah, maybe he'll get his gang rape swagger back, too. we men
  11. You can read more at my Pat and Ron fan fiction website. this might as well be an exact transcript lmao
  12. these broke dick teams are gonna horsefeathers around and let SSR swoop in and sign bryce as a butler
  13. 2 hours 15 minutes until Harper sign with us
  14. GO RED SOX
  15. yeah i feel like you missed 2/3 of that post
  16. to be fair, that 2008 cubs team won 97 games, looked like a lock for a deep playoff run, horsefeathers the bed, did nothing in the offseason and won 83 games the following year and was a non-factor for more than a half a decade after that. now the team was so flawed that Peavy wouldn't have made much difference but it was a bust of an offseason and very disappointing. of course it all set the stage for theo to come in so its fine
  17. once again i was totally right
  18. this thing is bad and doesnt work yes i know the example i chose didn't actually cost them and may have actually greatly prolonged their opportunity to win actually i just dont like it
  19. Any pleb can appreciate Khalil Greene references, but I still think Jake Peavy is the superior Meph meme. He had math that proved that on average, trading for Jake Peavy would add two extra championships to the Cubs over five years. i must have thankfully blocked that out
  20. or khalil greene
  21. Jesus christ
  22. give bryce whatever opt out he wants. oh no he was so good that he outperformed his $40 million a year and now can get more, thanks for the excess value bryce
  23. hell yeah let's get this horsefeathers over with
  24. on a scale of 1 to 10 how truly problematic is jackass because i still love it even though those guys all mostly suck or are dead
