  1. i always thought year 2 was when you figure out if a QB is going to make it or not. also, it seems kind of weird to say that NYJ wasnt a super bowl contender, considering they made it to the AFC championship game
  2. Shonn Greene is a beast, too
  3. JESUS CHRIST IM READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL i've been devouring preview magazines like never before.
  4. his ISOD is very acceptable, considering his minor league history and rookie status
  5. cargo is a stud and IT'S GOOD THAT WE'RE LOSING. this season is over, just lose a lot, lets get a good pick and move on
  6. is it too much/too soon to ask Andy to do the week 1 post already? we forfeited this baseball season (not that it wasn't dead, already) and I am basically about to S my pants awaiting some football.
  7. bryce brown is toxic. i remember being so disappointed when i realized stoops and co. basically cut off contact with he and his brother, but, as usual, i should just trust people smarter than me
  8. i will absolutely root for the yankees the rest of the season if kerry wood goes there. Please let this happen.
  9. Does Hendry not understand how this process works? is there something i'm missing here? i really feel like i just must not understand the process very well, cause offering him arbitration kind of seems like a no-brainer
  10. Looks like all those annoying Trixies will have to find another scrappy white guy to love irrationally. http://www.pe.com/imagesdaily/2008/04-08/x_dodgers_diamondbacks_baseba_400.jpg Hello, ladies. There was irrational Theriot love, and irrational violent frothing hate for him here, the kind of hate reserved for one who murders your family. I never really understood it. really, of all people, YOU never understood irrationality?
  11. I cant find Walch, but Smit has a 2,35 era in A+-AA this year. 47/10 K/BB in 53.2 IP, 1.15 WHIP
  12. hahahahahahahah 17-2? jesus christ of course hendry will keep his job
  13. Because it's the Yankees they don't have to give up anything in return. The privalage is its own reward. love it
  14. he still has spies in the yankees clubhouse
  15. While that's true, it's not going to happen it appears. Maybe he needs another tractor. but he could get gonorrhea from a tractor  So uh, how are things with Jerry?
  16. this is like that seth rogen standup where tom cruise, david beckham and will smith touch their weiners together
  17. But if the reason for Young moving to 3B was primarily because of his bad defense at short, then he really is irrelevant to this conversation. aren't we talking about Lee moving castro off short because Lee is superior defensively? In that case, we're still talking about moving an established guy out of a position because of a better defender waiting in the wings.
  18. bring back steroids, this [expletive] sucks
  19. Your suggestion is to trade a 20 year old, playing a premium position, hitting about .310 over his first 200 ABs? Because, of Lee? Lee is no where near the prospect Castro is. I understand Castro flew a bit under the radar, but the odds of him being as good are not good. The more interesting road block is going to be if Ramirez resigns and Vitters bat becomes ready for the majors. What do you do? The obvious solution is to put Vitters in LF, however, Money Bags is currently roaming over there and is not likely to be moved. Move Vitters to 1B? Trade him? Where do I say I want to trade Castro now? Young, .800 OPSing SS's are extremely valuable. If we have 2 of them at the major league level, dont just move one to 2nd. Get fair value and fill a need elsewhere. I don't think that Lee ever will be an .800 OPS player. thats true, and he's only 6 months younger than castro. we may expect something like Elvis Andrus with a little more pop? an .800 ops at 2b is pretty average. i dont think there's a lot of historical evidence for 20-year olds to come up, OPS .800 and then never improve on that. Starlin is going to have a batch of 850-900 ops seasons and it's going to be awesome, whether at 6 or 4 (that's my new thing, calling baseball positions by their number equivalent, like in basketball)
  20. someone tell valentine that the only triple crown category hamilton leads in is in fact batting average
